Jim Thiebaud is an American skateboarder.
Thiebaud grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and during the 1980s was part of the San Francisco skate scene. Thiebaud not only participated in skateboarding during the early 1980s, but he also led, mentored, and encouraged a group of younger skateboarders including Rick Patterson, Mark Warren and Ben Fuller at Albany High School during 1982–1983 while attending high school, teaching and demonstrating tricks such as wallrides, hippie jumps over chairs, ollies down stairsets, and boardslides down handrails in the Albany High courtyard. Groups would gather around to learn from Thiebaud and watch him demonstrate his growing craft.
Jim rode as an amateur for Powell-Peralta, then turned pro for Santa Monica Airlines before he and former Powell-Peralta teammate Tommy Guerrero co-founded Real Skateboards [1] in 1991. He also later founded Adeline Records in the late 1990s.
Thiebaud is the Vice President [2] at Deluxe Distribution, the company that produces and distributes Real Skateboards, AntiHero Skateboards, Krooked Skateboards, Thunder Trucks, Venture Trucks, and Spitfire Wheels. Thiebaud is known as a very dedicated skateboarder who is very supportive of his team riders, skateboard shops, and anything that rings true to a simple, straightforward, "purist's" skateboarding ideal. Through "Actions REALized," Thiebaud was inspirational in the late 2000s movement of the skateboarding industry to look for and create worthwhile charities and causes within skateboarding that give back, support those in need, and perpetuate the idea of skateboarders taking care of their own.

Powell Peralta is an American skateboard company founded by George Powell and Stacy Peralta in 1978. The company rose to prominence in the 1980s as skateboarding began maturing as a sport. The company featured the Bones Brigade, a team featuring the era's top competitors. Peralta left the company in 1991 and Powell continued to produce skateboard equipment as Powell, Bones Bearings and RollerBones. The two company founders reunited to produce the company's now classic inventory under the name Powell Classic.
Natas Kaupas is an American former professional skateboarder. He grew up in South Santa Monica, California, in the area known as Dogtown, and is of Lithuanian descent. He is often referred to as one of the first true professional street skateboarders.

Deluxe Distribution is an Ermico Enterprises, Inc.-owned skateboarding company founded in 1986 with limited partner Brian Ware in San Francisco. Deluxe was formed to distribute the Beware Record label, and other small record labels popular with skateboarders, along with Thunder Trucks and Supercush Bushings. Deluxe distributes six skateboard brands and owns DLXSF, a retail outlet.
Mark Gonzales, also known as "Gonz" and "The Gonz", is an American professional skateboarder and artist. A pioneer in the development of modern street skating and considered the first street-only skateboarder alongside Natas Kaupas. Gonzales and Kaupas are also credited with the first known boardslides on a handrail. Gonzales pioneering influence on skateboarding has caused him to be known as the godfather of modern street skateboarding and was named the "Most Influential Skateboarder of All Time" by Transworld Skateboarding magazine in December 2011.
Robert Lance Mountain is an American professional skateboarder and artist who was one of the prominent skateboarders throughout the 1980s, primarily due to his involvement with the Bones Brigade. As of August 2017, Mountain continues to skate professionally and his sponsors include Flip, Nike SB, Independent Trucks, Spitfire Wheels, and Bones Bearings.

JFA is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981, with roots in Arizona and in Southern California skateboard culture.
