Daniel St James Bowen (born 11 February 1957) is an Irish former rugby union international. [1]

Bowen was born and raised in Cork, attending Presentation Brothers College. [2]

A winger, Bowen was capped three times for Ireland in the 1977 Five Nations Championship, aged 19 at the time of his debut against Wales. [3] The following year, he was part of the Munster side that beat the touring All Blacks, with his line break setting up the game's only try. [4] He had six knee operations during an injury plagued career, which was spent with Cork Constitution, Lansdowne, and St Mary's College. [5]

He was inducted into the Rugby Writers of Ireland Hall of Fame in November 2013. He was adjudged Irish rugby’s ‘Player of the Decade’ for the 1980s by the Irish Times. Lenihan was elected President of Cork Constitution Rugby Club in 2020-2021. His brother Cormac Linehan has been very successful as a manager for Kilmurry junior A team, being touted as the next potential Cork senior football manager.

Tommy Moroney was an Irish soccer and rugby union player. Moroney played soccer for Cork United, West Ham United, Evergreen United and Ireland. In 1949 he was a member of the Ireland team that defeated England 2–0 at Goodison Park, becoming the first non-UK team to beat England at home. He also represented both Cork Constitution and Munster at rugby union.

Munster Rugby has a strong tradition of competitiveness against touring rugby teams. They have played the All Blacks, the national team of New Zealand, 8 times since 1905. In 1978, they became the first Irish team, including the Irish national team, to win a match in the history of competition between the countries, and remained the only Irish team to beat the All Blacks until the Irish national team defeated New Zealand in November 2016.

Brendan Oliver Foley is an Irish former rugby union player, who played in the amateur era of the sport. He played primarily as a lock. Foley spent most of his club career with Shannon in Limerick and played at provincial level for Munster, starting in the team's famous victory over New Zealand in 1978. Foley also played internationally for Ireland, winning 11 caps between 1976 and 1981. Foley is the father of two Ireland rugby internationals Anthony Foley (1973–2016) and Rosie Foley.

Maurice Cornelius "Moss" Finn is an Irish former rugby union international active in the 1970s and 1980s. He ran a sporting goods store called 'Finn's Corner' in Cork for many years after retirement.
