Jimmy Uguro (died 6 February 2024) was a Papua New Guinean politician. He served as Minister of Education from 2020 until his death in 2024.
In 1995,Uguro obtained a primary school teaching diploma after training at the Madang School Teachers Training College. In 2001,he obtained a teaching degree at the University of Goroka,followed by a master's degree in this field at Divine Word University in Madang in 2005. [1] He worked in the public administration of the Madang Province before entering politics. [1]
Uguro entered the National Parliament as a deputy for the Usino-Bundi constituency in the 2017 elections,as a member of the National Alliance Party. He served as Deputy Minister of Mines from June 2019 to December 2020,after which he became a member of Pangu Pati. In December 2020,he was promoted to Minister of Education. [1] He was reappointed to this position after the 2022 elections. [2]
Uguro died in Wewak on 6 February 2024. [3]

Bernard Mullu Narokobi OBE was a Papua New Guinean politician,jurist,and philosopher. He was serving as the Papua New Guinean High Commissioner to New Zealand prior to his death. Between 1987 and 1997 he represented his Wewak Open Electorate as a Member in the Papua New Guinea's National Parliament. During his time as a Member of Parliament (MP),he served as the Minister for Justice (1988–1992) in the government led by the then Prime Minister Rabbie Namaliu;Agriculture Minister (1992–1994) under the leadership of Prime Minister Sir Julius Chan led government;and Leader of the Opposition from July 1997 to 1999,and Speaker of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea,until he lost his seat to the then Wewak MP Kimson Kare during the 2002 elections. He was displaced as a minister in the Chan government for failing to vote in favour of constitutional reforms in the provincial system of government.

James Marape is a Papua New Guinean politician who has served as the prime minister of Papua New Guinea since May 2019. He has been a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea since July 2007,representing the electorate of Tari-Pori Open in Hela Province in the New Guinea Highlands. He has held Cabinet Posts as Minister of Education (2008–2011),Minister of Finance (2012–2019),and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2023–present). Marape entered the 2022 elections under the banner of the Pangu Party and won more seats than any other party. He was therefore entitled to form the government. His new government was elected unopposed by the new parliament.
Sir Arnold Karibone Amet is a Papua New Guinean former politician and judge. In 1971 he married Miaru Feareka,and they have five (5) children:Sarah,born 22 February 1972;Arnold Jr,born 21 November 1974;Miriam,born 26 May 1976;Sova,born 12 July 1981;Giok,born 15 May 1986. He was a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 2007 to 2012,representing the Madang Provincial seat. He was Minister for Justice and Attorney-General from 2010 to 2011. Prior to entering politics,he was Chief Justice of Papua New Guinea. In February 2021 he was nominated as the Allegiance Party candidate for the seat of Moresby North West District but was unsuccessful in securing the seat. He was awarded Knight Bachelor for service to the judiciary,law and justice in 1993.

He has been a Member of Parliament for Ialibu-Pangia since 2002. He was a former cabinet minister and the leader of the People's National Congress between 2006 and 2022. He resigned his position as prime minister to avoid a vote of no confidence,and he was succeeded by James Marape. O'Neill won re-election to the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea in 2022 in the first round with a large majority,which is unusual in the country.

Bryan Jared Kramer is a Papua New Guinea politician and Member of the 10th and 11th Parliament of Papua New Guinea. Formerly a member of the Pangu Party,he founded the Allegiance Party,of which he was the sole MP,in 2018. He ran nine candidates in the 2022 National Elections,including one in each of Madang's seven electorates. Kramer was returned with a sizeable majority,but was unsuccessful in securing the election of another Party member. He was suspended from office on 30 September 2022 pending the outcomes of a leadership tribunal. On Tuesday 28 February 2023 the three-man bench unanimously found Kramer guilty of seven counts against him. A three-man bench recommended dismissal for two counts of "scandalising the judiciary" and fines totalling K10,000 (USD3,000) for five counts related to use of district funds. Kramer was dismissed from office by the Governor General on 24 May 2023. He will not be able to re-contest an election for five years,allowing him to compete in the 2032 election. A by-election for Madang Open will be held in 2024.
