Söderhamn is a locality and the seat of Söderhamn Municipality, Gävleborg County, Sweden with 11,761 inhabitants in 2010.
Edsbyns IF, is a bsports team from Edsbyn in Ovanåker Municipality in Sweden founded on 6 June 1909. The bandy section of the club was founded as late as in 1925 was formally made a club of its own on 28 June 2000.
Johan Fransson is a Swedish professional ice hockey player, currently playing with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), where he is a defenceman. He has also played in leagues in Finland, Switzerland, and Russia. Although he was drafted and traded as a prospect in the NHL three times, he has never played a regular season NHL game.

Olov Englund is a Swedish bandy player who currently plays for Kalix Bandy as a defender. Englund is now a member of Sweden's national team and started playing in the Bandy World Championship 2007.
Sami Laakkonen is a Finnish former bandy player who played as a forward. Laakkonen was brought up by WP 35 but moved abroad to enhance his career. He played for the Finnish national bandy team, scoring the decisive goal in the final of the 2004 World Championship. At the 2016 World Championship, he made his last appearance as a national team player. After the 2018–19 season he also retired at club level.
Magnus Olsson is a Swedish former bandy player who most played his entire professional career for Edsbyns IF as a midfielder.
Stefan "Dino" Söderholm is a Swedish bandy manager and former player (midfielder) who most recently managed Sandvikens AIK. Söderholm was brought up by Edsbyns IF. Söderholm has played for the Swedish national bandy team making his debut in the 2001–02 season. Söderholm has been a member of Swedish championship winning squads in the 1999–2000, 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons for Sandvikens AIK and the 2003–04 season for Edsbyns IF He was also a member of the Bandy World Cup winning squad in 2001–02 season.
Per Hellmyrs is a Swedish professional bandy player who is a creative midfielder.
The Elitserien is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to Studenternas IP in 2018.

Edsbyns IF won the Swedish national championship title by defeating Bollnäs GIF, 3–1, in the final game, thereby securing Edsbyn's tenth championship title, making the club alone the third most successful Swedish bandy club so far.
The 2017–18 Elitserien is the eleventh season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season begins in late-October 2017.
