Ice Princess is a 2005 American teen sports comedy-drama film directed by Tim Fywell, written by Hadley Davis from a story by Princess Diaries creator Meg Cabot and Davis. It stars Joan Cusack, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Cattrall and Hayden Panettiere. The film focuses on Casey Carlyle, a normal teenager who gives up a promising future academic life in order to pursue her new-found dream of being a professional figure skater. The film was released on March 18, 2005, to mixed reviews. It flopped at the box office, grossing $25.7 million during its theatrical run against a production budget of $25 million.
John Luther Zimmerman IV is an American professional pair skater and coach. With skating partner Kyoko Ina, he is the 2002 World bronze medalist and a three-time U.S. national champion. They also competed at the 2002 Olympics. Zimmerman was suspended by the United States Center for SafeSport in March 2021 for a two-year period.

Melnichenko was married to former pair skater Artem Torgeshev, the 1987 World Junior silver medalist, with whom she has two children, Andrew and Deana. They coach at the Panthers Figure Skating Club, Saveology Iceplex in Coral Springs, Florida. Together they have coached many notable skaters, including Franchesca Chiera, Sophia Chouinard, Samantha Scott, Luiz Manella, and Andrew Torgashev. Their son, Andrew Torgashev, was born May 29, 2001, in Coral Springs, Florida, and competes for the United States in single skating.

She competed internationally at Prague Skate, Skate Canada International and the Asko Cup. Her coaches included Carlo Fassi, Frank Carroll, and John Nicks.
