Joe Itsebaga Acha is a Nigerian jurist who served as the Chief Judge of Edo State from 6 October 2021,until 19 May 2023. [1] He took on the role of Acting Chief Judge on 17 May 2021,following the retirement of Justice Esther Edigin. [2] Acha was born on 19 May 1958,in Okpekpe,Edo State,Nigeria. [1] He is the first chief judge from Etsako East and is married to Christiana Acha,with whom he has children and grandchildren. [3]
Justice Acha was born in the town of Okpekpe and raised in a Catholic family. [1]
Acha began his legal career after completing his formal education and training in law. He served in the judiciary and became a judge in Edo State. His term as Chief Judge involved efforts to improve the judicial system and maintain the rule of law. [4] [5]
Joe Acha is married to Christiana Acha with whom he has children and grandchildren. [3] He is a member of the Catholic Church. [3]
