John William Blockey (born 2 April 1937) is a British bobsledder. He competed in the two-man and the four-man events at the 1968 Winter Olympics. [1]
The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
A water polo tournament was held on the Seine on 11 and 12 August 1900 as part of the 1900 Summer Olympics. Eight teams from four countries, all European, entered the event, although only seven ended up playing. The Osborne Swimming Club of Manchester, England, which has been listed with two rosters that are nearly entirely different, became the first Olympic water polo champions by defeating the Brussels Swimming and Water Polo Club of Belgium. Third place went to the two French-based semi-finalists, Libellule de Paris and Pupilles de Neptune de Lille, the latter of whom entered two teams, but merged them together after the first round.

Madeline Manning Mims is a former American runner and Olympic champion. Between 1967 and 1981 she won ten national titles and set a number of American records. She participated in the 1968, 1972, and 1976 Summer Olympics. She likely also would have participated in the 1980 Games in Moscow, had they not been boycotted by the United States. At the 1968 Olympics she won a gold medal in the 800 m, one of only two American women to win this event. Until 2008, she was the youngest winner of the event. At the 1972 Games in Munich she won a silver medal in the 4 × 400 m relay with teammates Mable Fergerson, Kathy Hammond, and Cheryl Toussaint. When she was three years old, she was diagnosed with spinal meningitis and not expected to live. She recovered, but was consistently sick until she was a teen.

Ekkehard Fasser was a Swiss bobsledder who competed in the 1980s. He won a gold medal in the four-man event with teammates Kurt Meier, Marcel Fässler, and Werner Stocker at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
Douglas Thomas Anakin was a Canadian bobsleigh competitor. He was born in Chatham, Ontario and was selected by Vic Emery as a member of Canada's gold medal-winning four-man bobsleigh team at the 1964 Winter Olympics. Anakin was also one of the driving forces behind the Canadian luge program. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.
Hans Kilian (alternate listings: Hanns Kilian, Hans Killian, or Hanns Killian was a German bobsledder who competed from the late 1920s to the late 1930s. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he won two bronze medals.
Bernhard Germeshausen was an East German bobsledder who competed from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he won four medals with three golds and one silver.
Harry Warburton was a Swiss bobsledder who competed in the mid-1950s. He won the bronze in the two-man event at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
