John David Larson (died September 29, 2019) was an American insurance company executive, lawyer and brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States.
Larson originally jointed the United States Army Reserve in 1964 and jointed the Judge Advocate General's Corps. [1] He would later transfer to the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Larson was promoted to Brigadier General on July 28, 1995 and his retirement was effective as of June 30, 1998.
Awards he received include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with silver oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service Medal with service star, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with hourglass device, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
In civilian life, he joined National Guardian Life Insurance Company in 1969 and became president of the company in 1974. He later was named chairman of the board and became chairman emeritus in 2017. [2]
Major General Donald P. Dunbar is Wisconsin's former Adjutant General. He commanded the Wisconsin National Guard and is in the United States Air National Guard. Dunbar was responsible for Emergency Management in the state. He also served as Wisconsin's Homeland Security Advisor, chairs the Homeland Security Council, and served as the senior state official for cyber matters. Dunbar also served on the executive committees of the Governor's Homeland Security Advisors Council (GHSAC) and the Adjutants General Association of the United States (AGAUS), and is a member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Advisory Council. With the retirement of Major General Thaddeus J. Martin of the Connecticut National Guard on June 30, 2018, General Dunbar became the longest serving Adjutant General in the United States. At the request of Governor Tony Evers, Dunbar resigned his post in the Wisconsin National Guard on December 9, 2019, for intentionally ignoring orders requiring outside investigations into claims of sexual assault and harassment as required by state and federal law and U.S. Department of Defense regulations.
John E. McCoy is a major general in the United States National Guard and is the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander of Air Education and Training Command.
Scott D. Legwold was a brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and Director of the Joint Staff of the Wisconsin Army and Air National Guard.
Joseph J. Brandemuehl is a former brigadier general in the United States Air National Guard and commander of the 115th Fighter Wing at the Truax Field Air National Guard Base in Madison, Wisconsin.
Dominic A. Cariello is a former brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States.
James P. Daley is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former commander of the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Kerry G. Denson is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former Deputy Adjutant General of the Army in Wisconsin.
Roger A. Lalich is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former assistant adjutant general of the Joint Staff of the Wisconsin Army and Air National Guard. In addition, he served as the State Surgeon of Wisconsin.
Andrew M. Schuster is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former Assistant Adjutant General of Readiness and Training in Wisconsin.
Harvey M. Haakenson is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former Deputy Adjutant General of the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Timothy M. Kennedy is a retired brigadier general in the National Guard of the United States and former Assistant Adjutant General of Operations of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
John Frederick Nichols is a retired major general in the United States Air National Guard and the former Adjutant General of Texas.
Scott L. Thoele was a major general in the National Guard of the United States. His final assignment was as Deputy Commanding General for the Reserve Component of United States Army Forces Command. Thoele previously served as Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, United States Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth. He retired on 30 September 2015 after 14 years of service in the U.S. Army and 21 years of service in the Illinois Army National Guard.

Major General Daniel M. Krumrei served as Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. Historically, he is the 38th person to serve as Illinois' adjutant general.
Robyn J. Blader is a brigadier general in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and a practicing attorney in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
