The Central Division of the Queensland Rugby League is responsible for the promotion, administration and facilitation of rugby league throughout most of regional Queensland. Regional areas include the Darling Downs, Wide Bay–Burnett, the South West, the Central West, and Fitzroy & Mackay.
The Gold Coast Chargers were a professional rugby league club which played in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership from 1988 to 1994, the Australian Rugby League premiership from 1995 to 1997, and the National Rugby League premiership in 1998. They first played under the name Gold Coast-Tweed Giants from 1988 to 1989, then Gold Coast Seagulls from 1990 to 1995, very briefly as the Gold Coast Gladiators and finally Gold Coast Chargers from 1996 to 1998.

Matthew Charles Sing is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. An Australian and Queensland representative, Sing played his club football for the Penrith Panthers, Sydney Roosters and North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL) and for Hull F.C. in the Super League.
Scott Minto is a former professional rugby league footballer who played on the wing in 14 games for the North Queensland Cowboys and 39 games for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL.
Wayne Bartrim, is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s.
