John E. Leland

John E. Leland is vice president for Research and Executive Director of the University of Dayton Research Institute. [1] He previously served as the institute's director of operations and a division head and as the University of Dayton's director for technology partnerships. [1] [2] Before working at the University of Dayton, Leland worked for the United States Air Force. [1] [3] During the 2002–2003 term, Leland was named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. [3]

Leland received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1994. [1]

He has made significant seminal contributions in the areas of finite element method, plate theory, solid mechanics, variational methods, mechanics of composites, functionally graded materials, fracture mechanics, plasticity, biomechanics, classical and non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, and applied functional analysis. Reddy has over 620 journal papers and 20 books and has given numerous national and international talks. He served as a member of the International Advisory Committee at ICTACEM, in 2001 and keynote addressing in 2014.[2][3]

She is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota, where she directs the Solar Energy Laboratory, and is the former Ronald L. and Janet A. Christenson chair of renewable energy at the university.

Michele J. Grimm is a British-American biomechanical engineer. She took on the role of Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Albany in 2022. She was previously the Wielenga Creative Engineering Endowed Professor of mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering at Michigan State University. Her research concerns the biomechanics of injury, particularly injuries in newborn children to the brachial plexus, a part of the nervous system connecting it to the upper body.

Dawn M. Elliott is an American biomedical engineer whose research concerns the biomechanics of connective tissue including the tendons, menisci, and intervertebral discs. She is Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Delaware, adjunct professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and the former president of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
