John H. Froude (born February 1,1930) is an American Democratic Party politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1972 to 1980. [1]
He grew up in South River and attended public schools there. He graduated from South River High School. [2] earned an Ed.M from Rutgers University and took additional courses at Seton Hall University and the University of Michigan. He worked as a college professor at Kean College and as a social studies teacher at South River High School and Sayreville War Memorial High School. He was elected to the South River borough council in 1967 and reelected in 1970 before being elected to the Assembly. [3]
First elected in 1971 to the Assembly from District 7B (alongside James Bornheimer),he was reelected in 1973,1975,and 1977 in the new 18th Legislative District. He retired from the Assembly in 1980 and moved to Upper Freehold Township. [4]
Freehold is a borough in and the county seat of Monmouth County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Known for its Victorian era homes and extensive colonial history,the borough is located in the Raritan Valley region within the New York Metropolitan Area,located about 33 miles (53 km) from Manhattan and 17 miles (27 km) from Staten Island. The borough has grown to become a commuter town of New York City. As of the 2020 United States census,the borough's population was 12,538,its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 486 (+4.0%) from the 12,052 recorded at the 2010 census,which in turn reflected an increase of 1,076 (+9.8%) from the 10,976 counted in the 2000 census.
Freehold Township is a township in western Monmouth County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Crisscrossed by several major highways,the township is a commercial hub for Central New Jersey and is a suburban bedroom community of New York City,located within the Raritan Valley region of the much larger New York metropolitan area. The township is located roughly 38 miles (61 km) away from Manhattan and about 20 miles (32 km) away from Staten Island. As of the 2020 United States census,the township's population was 35,369,a decrease of 815 (−2.3%) from the 36,184 recorded at the 2010 census,which in turn reflected an increase of 4,647 (+14.7%) from the 31,537 counted in the 2000 census.
Upper Freehold Township is a township in Monmouth County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census,the township's population was 7,273,an increase of 371 (+5.4%) from the 2010 census count of 6,902,which in turn reflected an increase of 2,620 (+61.2%) from the 4,282 counted in the 2000 census.
Manalapan High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in Manalapan Township,in Monmouth County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey,operating as part of the Freehold Regional High School District. The school serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from all of Englishtown and portions of Manalapan. Freehold High School,sometimes called Freehold Boro,Freehold Borough High School or Boro to distinguish it from Freehold Township High School,is a four-year public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades,located within Freehold Borough,in the U.S. state of New Jersey,operating as one of the six secondary schools of the Freehold Regional High School District. Established in 1923,the school serves students from all of Freehold Borough and from portions of Freehold Township. Freehold High School is the home of the Medical Sciences Learning Center,the Computer Science Academy and the Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management Academy. Marlboro High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Marlboro Township,in Monmouth County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey,serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as one of the six secondary schools of the Freehold Regional High School District (FRHSD). The school serves students from portions of Marlboro Township. Marlboro High School hosts the Business Administration Magnet Program (BAMP),a selective magnet program offered within FRHSD,so there are students attending Marlboro High School from across the county. Students that are a part of the BAMP take advanced classes that are more in-depth than regular classes. Toms River High School North is a four-year comprehensive public high school,and was the second public high school established in Toms River,in Ocean County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey,operating as part of the Toms River Regional Schools. Toms River High School North is the largest of all schools in the Toms River Regional School district. The TRHSN mascot is the Mariner,and the school colors are navy blue and gold. The other high schools in the district are Toms River High School East and Toms River High School South.
