John Kaites (born April 1,1963) is an American politician and a former member of the Arizona State Legislature and a lobbyist working in the state of Arizona. In addition to his time in the legislature,Kaites also worked as an assistant attorney general for the State of Arizona and as a prosecutor for Maricopa County.
Kaites earned his BA from Allegheny College in 1985 and his JD from Duquesne University School of Law in 1990.
Kaites is currently of counsel at the Phoenix law firm Fennemore Craig. [1] In 2011,Kaites attempted to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes. [2] he also serves on the Whitworth University Board of Trustees. [3] In 2019,Kaites applied for the vacant position of Maricopa County Attorney,but the position went to Allister Adel. [4]
Kaites ran for Arizona Attorney General in 1998,losing in the Republican primary to Tom McGovern [5] after running controversial advertisements against McGovern. [6]
John Richard Williams was an American radio announcer and politician. After gaining public recognition throughout Arizona because of his work in radio,he went on to become a two-term mayor of Phoenix,Arizona,and a three-term governor of Arizona. A constitutional amendment,approved by Arizona voters in 1968,resulted in Williams serving eight years as governor and being the first governor of Arizona to serve a four-year term.
Andrew Peyton Thomas is an American politician,author and former attorney. He was the county attorney for Maricopa County in Arizona from 2004 until April 6,2010. During his term in office,he was known for his anti-illegal immigrant policies. On April 10,2012,Thomas was disbarred by a disciplinary panel of the Arizona State Supreme Court for his actions as county attorney.

Thomas Charles Horne is an American attorney,politician,and Republican activist who served as the 25th Attorney General of Arizona from 2011 to 2015. Horne lost to Mark Brnovich in the Republican primary for Attorney General in 2014. He previously served as the Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction from 2003 to 2011. Horne was elected to another term as Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2022.
Rebecca White Berch is a former justice of the Arizona Supreme Court. On July 1,2009,she began a five-year term as chief justice,a position to which she was elected by her peers on the court. As chief justice,she succeeded Ruth McGregor. She concluded her service as Arizona's chief justice in July 2014 when she passed the gavel to new Chief Justice Scott Bales. Berch had been a justice of the state's highest court since March 2002,when she was appointed to the court by Republican governor Jane Dee Hull. She retired in September 2015.

Albert Cornelius Baker was an American jurist and politician who was the only person to serve on both the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court and the Arizona Supreme Court. As a judge he served four years as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Arizona Territory and two-and-a-half years as a justice of the Arizona Supreme Court. Politically he was a member of the Arizona Territorial Legislature and a delegate to Arizona's constitutional convention.

Allister Adel was an American attorney who served as the County Attorney for Maricopa County,Arizona,from 2019 to 2022. She was the first woman to hold the position. Originally appointed to the position,Adel subsequently won election to a full term in November 2020. However,she resigned in March 2022 amid controversies over her tenure and fitness for office,and died a month later.
The 2022 Maricopa County Attorney special election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the County Attorney for Maricopa County,Arizona. The election was held concurrently with other federal and state elections,as well as a special election for District 2 on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The special election was called due to the resignation of Allister Adel in March 2022.
