The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is the office or official charged with the prosecution of criminal offences in several criminal jurisdictions around the world. The title is used mainly in jurisdictions that are or have been members of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Andrew Mark Mallard was a British-born Australian who was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1995 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Almost 12 years later,after an appeal to the High Court of Australia,his conviction was quashed and a retrial ordered. However,the charges against him were dropped and Mallard was released. At the time,the Director of Public Prosecutions stated that Mallard remained the prime suspect and that if further evidence became available he could still be prosecuted. He was released from prison in 2006 after his conviction was quashed by the High Court,and was paid $3.25 million compensation by the state government. The Western Australian Commission on Crime and Corruption investigated whether there was misconduct by any public officer associated with this case and made findings against two policemen and a senior prosecutor.
Murray Byron Kellam was formerly a judge of the County Court of Victoria in Australia before being appointed as a judge on 28 January 1998 to the Supreme Court of Victoria,the highest ranking court in the Australian State of Victoria. He was also the first President of VCAT. On 16 May 2007 Kellam was appointed a judge of Appeal. He retired from the Supreme Court on 15 June 2009. Kellam also served as a member of the Supreme Court of Samoa. He was appointed an Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of the ACT on 8 March 2017.
The Corruption and Crime Commission is an independent anti-corruption integrity agency established on 1 January 2004 to improve the integrity of the Western Australian public sector and investigate allegations of misconduct against public officers. It took over from the Anti-Corruption Commission and has jurisdiction over all State Government departments,instrumentalities and boards as well as universities and local governments. This includes more than 148,000 employees in 278 public authorities.
Gerald Edward "Tony" Fitzgerald is a former Australian judge,who presided over the Fitzgerald Inquiry. The report from the inquiry led to the resignation of the Premier of Queensland Joh Bjelke-Petersen,and the jailing of several ministers and a police commissioner. He was the youngest person to be appointed as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.
John Spence Winneke,was a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria and President of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria,which is the highest ranking court in the Australian state of Victoria.
The Honourable Christopher David Steytler AO QC is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and President of the Court of Appeal. He was a member of the Supreme Court from 1994 to 2009 and was the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission from 2009 to 2012.
Major General Leonard William Roberts-Smith,is a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. From February 2005,he was one of the inaugural Judges of the Court of Appeal Division,having been first appointed to the Supreme Court on 6 November 2000. From May 2007,he served as Commissioner of the Corruption and Crime Commission of Western Australia,having been appointed for a five-year term. He retired on 31 January 2011.
Peter David McClellan is a retired judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal who served between February 2013 and February 2018. McClellan was the Chief Royal Commissioner of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse from January 2013 to December 2017. He was previously the Chief Judge in Common Law in the Supreme Court,a position to which he was appointed in 2005.
Christine Ann Wheeler is a former judge in the Supreme Court of Western Australia,from 1996 to 2005. From 2005 to 2010,she was an inaugural judge of the Court of Appeal. She retired from the Supreme Court on 25 February 2010.

Stephen Hall is an Australian jurist who is a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He was appointed to the general (trial) division of the court in 2009. In 2022 he was appointed as a permanent judge of the appeal division of the Court.
Ann Vanstone is an Australian lawyer. She was a crown prosecutor before being appointed as a judge of the District Court of South Australia from 1999 until 2003. She was then appointed to the Supreme Court of South Australia. Vanstone stepped down from the Supreme Court bench in June 2019.
Soraya Ryan is an Australian judge. She has been a Judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland since 9 March 2018.
Robert James Bromwich is a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia,serving since 29 February 2016. He also holds roles as an Additional Judge of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and,from 10 April 2019 to 30 April 2020 was a part-time Commissioner of the Australian Law Reform Commission,sitting on its Inquiry on Corporate Crime.
