John Micco, aka Micco, is an American bass player, back-up vocalist, and songwriter based in New York City.

Micco is best known as a member of the alternative rock band Crush from 1991 to 1993. Crush also included Paul Ferguson from the British post-punk/industrial group Killing Joke, John Carruthers from the British rock bands Siouxsie and the Banshees and Clock DVA, and NJ's Fred Schreck from The Ancients. They were signed to Atlantic Records where they recorded their eponymous first album Crush . [1] This album was recorded in Wales and produced by Pat Moran (Robert Plant, Iggy Pop, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians). [2]

Micco's other major releases include Lloyd Cole's "Bad Vibes" produced by Adam Peters and mixed by Bob Clearmountain in 1993 and Robert Becker's "Shakeup" in 2001.

From 1995 to 2001, Micco was the house bassist/vocalist for the Brooklyn, N.Y. based indie label, Catatonic Records. [3]

Micco was a member of Cats on a Smooth Surface, the house band at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ from 1981 to 1983. Bruce Springsteen would regularly jam with Cats at the Stone Pony on Sunday nights, and other top area musicians would sit in as well. [4]

Notably, Micco has worked with Grammy award-winning engineer/producer Andy Wallace on several unreleased projects. He has also enjoyed recording and touring with artists: Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple) and Gary Corbett (Cinderella) as well as jamming with the following artists: Reeves Gabrels (Tin Machine, David Bowie), Clarence Clemons, and Eric Carr (KISS), and members from the following bands: Iron Maiden, Blue Öyster Cult, Asbury Jukes, and The News (The Huey Lewis band circa 1980s). His bands have opened for Chicago, Bryan Adams, [5] The Go Go's and Twisted Sister. [6]

In December 2013 one of his original bands, The Darrens played at Irving Plaza, opening up for Mark McGrath and his band Sugar Ray.

Most recently, Micco has been playing with The Bobby Bandiera Band (Jon Bon Jovi, South Side Johnny, Cats on a Smooth Surface) at the Jersey Shore. He is also a member of the Jersey shore based band, The Intentions.

Vincent Lopez, nicknamed Mad Dog, is an American drummer. Between 1968 and 1974 Lopez backed Bruce Springsteen in several bands, including Steel Mill and the E Street Band. He also played on Springsteen's first two albums, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. and The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle. Both during and after his time with the E Street Band, Lopez played drums with numerous Jersey Shore bands.

Ernest Carter is an American drummer. He has toured and recorded with, among others, Bruce Springsteen, David Sancious, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes and Paul Butterfield. During his time with Springsteen, he played the drums on the song "Born to Run". Able to play all forms of rock as well as rhythm and blues, soul and jazz, Carter was formally trained and blends a variety of styles into his drumming. His successor as the drummer with the E Street Band, Max Weinberg later said that Carter devised a jazz fusion part for "Born to Run" that he could never reproduce in concert, and eventually stopped attempting. Although best known as a drummer, Carter is also a guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist and in 2001 he released a solo album, Temple of Boom, singing and playing all of the instruments.

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes are an American musical group from the Jersey Shore led by Southside Johnny. They have been recording albums since 1976 and are closely associated with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. They have recorded or performed several Springsteen songs, including "The Fever" and "Fade Away". Springsteen has also performed with the band on numerous occasions and in 1991 guested on their Better Days album. During the band's formative years Steven Van Zandt acted as the band's co-leader, guitarist, songwriter, arranger and producer while other E Streeters including Clarence Clemons, Max Weinberg, Garry Tallent, Ernest Carter, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell have all performed, toured or recorded with the Jukes.

Big Man's West was a nightclub located at 129 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, New Jersey. It was owned by Clarence "Big Man" Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and managed by Terry Magovern and George McMorrow. Although the club was short-lived, together with The Fast Lane and The Stone Pony, it played a key role in the revival the Jersey Shore music scene during the early 1980s.

Steel Mill was an early Bruce Springsteen band. Other members of the band included three future members of the E Street Band, Vini Lopez, Danny Federici, and Steve Van Zandt. As well as playing on the Jersey Shore, Steel Mill also played regularly in Richmond, Virginia and played gigs in California and a festival in Nashville, Tennessee. They opened for acts such as Chicago, Boz Scaggs, Grand Funk Railroad, Roy Orbison, Ike & Tina Turner, and Black Sabbath. Since 2004 Vini Lopez has led Steel Mill Retro which has performed and recorded original Springsteen songs from the Steel Mill era.

It was where the Asbury Jukes, Steel Mill and the Blackberry Blues Band were formed.
