Brigadier John Mugyenyi is a military officer in Uganda. He is a senior commander in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). As of August 2014, he was undeployed. Mugyenyi is reported to be heavily invested in construction, real estate, luxury hotels, apartment houses, and financial institutions. [1] According to a 2014 published report, he was one of the wealthiest individuals in Uganda. [2]

Military service

He previously served as the director of the Joint Anti-Terrorist Taskforce, a rapid response, counter-terrorism unit within the UPDF. Before that, he served in 2001 as a military intelligence officer and was instrumental in defeating rebels belonging to the People's Redemption Army. He has also served as the commanding officer of Entebbe Airport Aviation Security, where his unit was active against drug smugglers. In the 1990s, he was one of the commanders in the Ituri conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In January 2005, he retired from the army at the rank of lieutenant colonel, [3] and he has been mainly focused on his businesses, in construction and finance. [4] In January 2013, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier. [5]

He was appointed to that position on 9 January 2017, replacing General Edward Katumba Wamala, who was appointed State minister for works.

Leopold Eric Kyanda is a Major General in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). He currently serves as the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces in the UPDF. He was appointed to that position in May 2013, replacing Major General Charles Angina, who was promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed Deputy Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda (DCDF).

Lieutenant General Andrew Gutti is a Ugandan military officer. He is the Chairman of the General Court Martial of the Uganda People's Defence Force. He was appointed to that position in May 2016, replacing the late Major General Levi Karuhanga.

Major General Elly Kayanja, is a Ugandan military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF). Effective September 2014, he is the Head of Operation Wealth Creation Programme, whose objective is to improve the standard of living of rural citizens, through farming. Previously, he served as the Deputy Director of National Intelligence, under General David Sejusa. Prior to that, he served as the Director General of the Internal Security Organisation.

Brigadier Patrick Kankiriho (1961–2013) was a military officer in Uganda. He was a senior commander in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). At the time of his death, he was the commander of the 2nd Army Division in Mbarara, Western Uganda. In 2008, he served as the commander of Operation Lightning Thunder, the military operation that dislodged the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels out of Garamba National Forest, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Brigadier Kayanja Muhanga, is an army officer. He currently serves as the Commander of the UPDF Contingent in Somalia . He was appointed to that position in January 2014 by General Yoweri Museveni, the Commander in Chief of the UPDF and the President of Uganda. Prior to that, Brigadier Muhanga served as the Commandant of the Military Police within the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF).

Brigadier Fred Tolit, is a military officer. He currently serves as Uganda's Defense Attaché to the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Prior to that, he served as the Chairman of the UPDF General Court Martial, one of the highest military courts in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). He was replaced by Brigadier Moses Ddiba Ssentongo, the current Chairman, in June 2013.

Dick Olum

Brigadier Richard Prit Olum, commonly known as Dick Olum, is a military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), who serves as Uganda's military attache at the Ugandan embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, based in Kinshasa, since October 2017.

Sam Kavuma

Major General Sam Kavuma, whose full name is Samuel Kavuma, is a Ugandan senior military officer. He currently serves as the Deputy Commander of Land Forces in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), effective 1 December 2017, being the first person in that newly-created position. Immediately prior to his current position, he served as the deputy commander of the UPDF Air Force. Before that, Kavuma served as the Commander of the UPDF Contingent in Somalia, as part of the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM). He was appointed to that position in October 2014. He replaced Brigadier Dick Olum, who served in that position from September 2013 until October 2014.

Major General Innocent Felix Oula is a senior army officer in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). As of March 2020, he serves as the Head of Civil Military Cooperation. He concurrently serves as one of the UPDF representatives to the Parliament of Uganda. He was elected to that position in January 2014, replacing renegade General David Sejusa, who was expelled from Parliament.

General Joram Mugume, is a military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF). He is the chairman of the board of directors of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), the business arm of the UPDF. He was appointed to that position by the Uganda Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs, on 20 February 2018. He has also served as the chairman of the "Military Land Board", an organ of the UPDF. He has been serving in that position since 2005, having served as Deputy Chief of Defense Forces in the past.

Lieutenant General John Mugume is a senior Ugandan military officer. He currently serves as the General Manager of Defence Forces Shop Limited, the duty-free commissary of the UPDF.

Lieutenant General Charles Lwanga Lutaaya, is a senior Ugandan military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF). He is the Commander of the UPDF Air Force. Before that, he was the Deputy Commander of the UPDF Air Force.

Major General Silver Kayemba is a senior military officer in the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF). He currently serves as the Military Attaché at Uganda's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City.

Felix Kulayigye is a Brigadier General in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). He was the Political Commissar of the UPDF and concurrently serves as a Member of Parliament, representing the UPDF.

He currently serves as the Commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC), an elite unit that is responsible for the security of the President of Uganda, and that of traditional cultural leaders and vital national installations, as well as the country's oil fields. He assumed command of the SFC, in January 2017, taking over from Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who was appointed Senior Presidential Adviser on military affairs.

Geoffrey Katsigazi Tumusiime, is a Ugandan military officer and diplomat, who serves as the Deputy Commander of the UPDF Air Force, since January 2020. He is a Major General in the UPDF and immediately prior to his current assignment, he served as the Defence Liaison Officer at the headquarters of the East African Community, in Arusha, Tanzania.
