Johnny Allen (born September 17, 1934, in Greenville, South Carolina) is a NASCAR Grand National Series driver from 1955–1967. He won one race in his career, the 1962 Myers Brothers 200 at the Bowman-Gray Stadium on June 16, 1962. Allen filled in for Jack Smith in the 1961 Volunteer 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway and won the race, but the win was credited to Smith because Smith had started the race. John Sherman "Johnny" Rutherford III, also known as "Lone Star JR", is an American former automobile racing driver. During an Indy Car career that spanned more than three decades, he scored 27 wins and 23 pole positions in 314 starts. He became one of ten drivers to win the Indianapolis 500 at least three times, winning in 1974, 1976, and 1980. He also won the CART championship in 1980.

Jonathan Joseph "Johnny" Sauter is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 47 Toyota Tundra for G2G Racing and the No. 13 Tundra for ThorSport Racing. Sauter is the son of former NASCAR driver Jim Sauter, the brother of NASCAR drivers Tim Sauter and Jay Sauter, and the uncle of Travis Sauter. He is the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion.
MB2 Motorsports was a NASCAR Cup Series team based in Mooresville, North Carolina, near the sport's hub in Charlotte. The team was founded by Read Morton, Tom Beard, and Nelson Bowers, from which the original team name were named after. Bowers was the longest tenured of the original owners, and the listed owner of the teams' entries when resort and real-estate developer Bobby Ginn bought out the team in 2007, renaming it to Ginn Racing for that season only. Williams Grove Speedway is a half-mile automobile dirt racing track located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. The speedway opened on May 21, 1939, it has been owned by the Hughes family for over 50 years and has hosted many of the most notable national touring series and some of those most prestigious races in the country. The speedway is entering its 81st year of operation, with racing every Friday from March to October and other special events. One of these special events is the $75,000 to win National Open for sprint cars sanctioned by the World of Outlaws racing series held in late September or early October each year.
ThorSport Racing is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team was founded in 1996 as SealMaster Racing and is based in Sandusky, Ohio. Owned by Duke Thorson and his wife Rhonda, it currently fields four full-time teams: the No. 66 for Ty Majeski, the No. 88 for Matt Crafton, the No. 98 Christian Eckes, and the No. 99 for Ben Rhodes. The team also fields the No. 13 part-time for Johnny Sauter. The team has won three Truck Series championships with Crafton, and one championship with Rhodes (2021). The team is also the longest continually tenured team in the truck series, having fielded at least one truck in every season since 1996.

The 1961 NASCAR Grand National season was the 13th season of professional stock car racing in the United States, and contested over 52 events from November 6, 1960, to October 29, 1961. Ned Jarrett captured the championship which was run on 20 dirt tracks, 31 paved tracks, and one road course. Seventeen events were considered short tracks, and 14 events were held at super speedways. Joe Weatherly won the season opening's event at Charlotte, and Jarrett went on to capture the championship with 27,272 points; 830 more than second-place finisher Rex White. Emanuel Zervakis finished third in points, with Joe Weatherly fourth and Fireball Roberts fifth.

The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. It is one of two NASCAR Cup Series races held at Bristol, the other being the Food City Dirt Race, but it is by far the more popular of the two. From 1978 to 2019, the race has been held in late August, typically on the last weekend of the month, on a Saturday night.
