Johny Lal was an Indian cinematographer who worked predominantly in Bollywood and Kannada films. Lal's well-known films include Veerey Ki Wedding (2018), Partner (2007), Kucch To Hai (2003), Jeena Sirf Merre Liye (2002), Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001) and Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001). Career

After working in several films as an associate cameraman, Johny Lal worked as an independent cinematographer in several successful films like Aathanka , Partner , Kucch To Hai , Yaadein , One 2 Ka 4 , Om Jai Jagadish , Jeena Sirf Merre Liye , Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein , Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and Shaadi Se Pehle .[ citation needed ]

Death

Lal died due to COVID-19 related complications on 21 April 2021. [1] [3] [4]

Minnale (transl. Lightning) is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language romance film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in his directoral debut. The story was written by Menon and Vipul D. Shah, starring Madhavan, Abbas, Reema Sen, Vivek and Nagesh. The film tells the story of a love-struck man, stealing the identity of his former college foe, to pursue his lady love, and the eventual repercussions he has to face when his cover is blown before he could come clean. The film's original soundtrack composed by debutant music composer Harris Jayaraj, became popular prior to the film's release. The cinematography of the film was handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and it was edited by Suresh Urs. Reema Sen made her Tamil debut through this film.

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, also known by the initialism RHTDM, is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring R. Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the director's own Tamil film Minnale, which also starred Madhavan in his reprised role. This is Dia Mirza's debut film as well as Tamil actor, Madhavan's official Bollywood debut film after having an uncredited appearance in a song sequel during the mid-90s. Despite not being a commercial success at the time of release, the film has become a cult classic over the years.

The film is an official Hindi remake of the 2001 Telugu film Manasantha Nuvve (2001) which was based on Anmol Ghadi (1946). The film was released to widespread negative reception.
