Jonas Peter Andersson (born 4 October 1989) is a Swedish politician. He has been a member of the Riksdag for the Sweden Democrats since 2018. [1]
He is referred to as Jonas Andersson i Linghem or Jonas Andersson i Linköping to distinguish him from Jonas Andersson i Skellefteå (born 1972),another member of the Riksdag. [1]
Andersson was born in Eskilstuna and holds a PhD in political science from Linköping University. He is chairman of the Sweden Democrats in Linköping and has been a member of Linköping City Council since 2010 and a member of the regional council in the Östergötland region. In the 2018 Swedish general election,Andersson was elected to the Swedish Parliament. [2] In October 2018, Expressen revealed that Andersson had expressed controversial comments that were deemed racist on the Swedish blogsite Politically Incorrect in 2010. The SD's leadership held talks with Andersson,who expressed regret and publicly apologized. [3]
The Sweden Democrats is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Sweden. As of 2022,it is the largest member of Sweden's right-wing governing bloc to which it provides confidence and supply,and is the second largest party in the Riksdag. The party describes itself as social conservative with a nationalist foundation. The party has also been variously characterised by academics,political commentators,and media as national-conservative,anti-immigration,anti-Islam,Eurosceptic,and far-right. The Sweden Democrats reject the far-right label,saying that it no longer represents the party's political beliefs. Founded in 1988,the Sweden Democrats originally had its roots in Swedish fascism,as well as white nationalism,but began distancing itself from its past during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Under the leadership of Jimmie Åkesson since 2005,the SD underwent a process of reform by expelling hardline members and moderating its platform. Today,the Sweden Democrats officially reject both fascism and Nazism on their platform.

Paula Bieler is a Swedish former politician for the Sweden Democrats party. She became a member of the party in 2009. In November 2013 Bieler became an elected member of Sweden Democrats party council. In the 2014 Swedish general election,Bieler was the party's number six national candidate for the Riksdag,and was elected a member of the Riksdag. Since April 2014 Bieler has also been the party's official political spokesman on gender and gay rights. On 11 February 2020,Bieler revealed that she was leaving the Riksdag in an interview with the Swedish tabloid Expressen. Shortly afterwards the podcast Lögnarnas Tempel revealed that she has also left the Sweden Democrats.
General elections were held in Sweden on 11 September 2022 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag who in turn elected the Prime Minister of Sweden. Under the constitution,regional and municipal elections were also held on the same day. The preliminary results presented on 15 September showed the government parties lost their majority,which were confirmed by the final results published on 17 September. After a month of negotiations following the elections that led to the TidöAgreement among the right-wing bloc,Moderate Party (M) leader Ulf Kristersson was elected Prime Minister of 17 October. The Kristersson Cabinet is a minority government that relies on confidence and supply from the Sweden Democrats (SD)
