Jonathan Jones (born October 21, 1982) is the lead singer, pianist, song writer and co-founder of the alternative rock bands Waking Ashland and We Shot the Moon.
Jones lives in Cardiff, California. [1] He is an avid surfer and spends a good deal of time surfing while not on tour.
On Thursday, July 21, 2011, Jones proposed to longtime girlfriend Julie Coy after an afternoon surf session in Cardiff. In 2013 the couple moved to Woodland, California to pursue Julie's studies at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
In November 2003, he co-founded the rock band Waking Ashland. Together, they released two EP's and two LP's. Their first release was the 2004 debut EP I Am for You. This was followed by a record signing with Tooth and Nail Records, and the LP, Composure in May, 2005. After some band relationship troubles, they made their third release, Telescopes, with temporary band members. In April, 2007, the band released what would be their final album, The Well. In July 2007, Jones, speaking for the band, revealed that the band would no longer stay together.
We Shot the Moon formed after Jones's previous band, Waking Ashland, broke up. They have released one EP and two LP's. This new band's first release was The Polar Bear and Cougar EP in December 2007. This was followed by their first LP, Fear And Love in April 2008. In early 2009, they entered the studio once again to record their next album. This album, named A Silver Lining , was released on October 6, 2009. On March 5, 2013, the band released a new album called Love On.
On February 3, 2009, Jones started selling his solo CD, We Were Young, on various websites and on iTunes. Physical copies of the CD will be available "this fall when [he] does a solo tour". [2] A new solo album, entitled Community Group , was released on June 14, 2011.
In 2013, Jones and Katy McAllister, as the group Old Daisy, released a self-titled album.
In 2015, in collaboration with Randy Carney, under the name Supermassive, he released the album Major Major (online only, through Bandcamp).
Starting in 2015, under the name Bird Passengers, in collaboration with Nate Dodge, he has released several albums.
Allister is an American pop-punk band from Chicago, Illinois. The four-piece formed in 1994 as Phineas Gage when the original band members were still in high school. In 1998, Allister became one of the first bands to sign to Drive-Thru Records. They went on hiatus in 2007, then reunited in 2010, and have been touring and recording again since. They have released six studio albums: Dead Ends and Girlfriends (1999), Last Stop Suburbia (2002), Before the Blackout (2005), Countdown to Nowhere (2010), Life Behind Machines (2012), and 20 Years and Counting (2019). Their final lineup consisted of singer/keyboardist Jonathan Jones, guitarist Ryan Lallier, bassist Nate Harold and drummer Tim Very.
The Rosebuds were an American indie rock band from Raleigh, North Carolina, that recorded and performed from 2001 to 2014. Its current members are Ivan Howard (vocals/guitar/drums/bass/keyboards/programming) and Kelly Crisp (vocals/keyboard/drums/guitar/accordion). The Bird and the Bee is an American indie pop musical duo from Los Angeles, consisting of Inara George and Greg Kurstin. Kurstin is a nine-time Grammy Award–winning producer and multi-instrumentalist who has worked with artists including Sia, Adele, Beck, Kendrick Lamar, and the Foo Fighters. George and Kurstin met while the two were working on her debut album and they decided to collaborate on a jazz-influenced electropop project. Their debut EP, Again and Again and Again and Again, was released on October 31, 2006, followed by their self-titled debut album on January 23, 2007.

Menahan Street Band is a Brooklyn, New York–based instrumental band formed in 2007, that plays funk and soul music. The band features musicians from Antibalas, El Michels Affair, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and the Budos Band. The group was founded by Thomas Brenneck while living in an apartment on Menahan Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick. Their debut album, Make the Road by Walking, was released in 2008 on Dunham, a sublabel of Daptone Records and was followed by The Crossing in 2012.
Fear and Love is the debut LP by the San Diego rock band We Shot the Moon, made up of Jonathan Jones of Waking Ashland, and Dan Koch and Joe Greenetz both of Sherwood. It was released to iTunes on April 1, 2008, and in stores on April 29, 2008. The band hinted at a few key shows in the mountain west that the album would "leak" to the internet on Friday, January 18, 2008. The downloading service hit its limit of downloads that day, however the album is still available through various other websites and file sharing services.

Red House Painters were an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1988, before relocating to San Francisco, California. They were one of the most prominent acts associated with the slowcore/sadcore subgenre. The band was formed by primary songwriter Mark Kozelek and drummer Anthony Koutsos. Together, the pair moved to San Francisco, California, where they were joined by bassist Jerry Vessel. Guitarists Gorden Mack and Phil Carney both performed with the band during separate six-year tenures.
Sherwood is an indie rock band from San Luis Obispo, California, specializing in upbeat pop rock. Members of the band cite The Beatles and The Beach Boys as some of their main influences. The band broke up in 2012 after ten years together. On September 28, 2015, the band announced via their Facebook page that they would be starting an Indiegogo account in order to crowdfund their fourth album, Some Things Never Leave You, which was released on June 17, 2016.

Neil is best known for his folky cover of ELO and The Move's "Do Ya," featured on the Californication Season 2 Soundtrack. Praised by U.K.’s No Ripcord Magazine, as “the bastard stepchild of Jackson Browne & David Bowie,” Neil Nathan's wide range of all star collaborators include members of The Raconteurs, Elle King, St. Vincent, Midlake, Jason Molina, and Wild Pink.
A Silver Lining is the second LP by the San Diego rock band We Shot the Moon. It was released to iTunes on October 6, 2009, and was made available in music stores on October 27. It was released through the Minnesota-based indie label Afternoon Records. The first single from the album, "The Bright Side," first appeared for sale in late June 2009, on the website store for Afternoon Records.
We Were Young is the debut solo album by Jonathan Jones, the singer and songwriter for the bands Waking Ashland and We Shot the Moon. The CD was first released to various websites and iTunes on February 3, 2009. Jones stated that physical copies of the CD will be available "this fall when [he] does a solo tour".

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are an English rock band formed in 2010 as the solo moniker of former Oasis songwriter, lead guitarist, and co-lead vocalist Noel Gallagher. The touring band consists of former Oasis members Gem Archer (guitar), Mike Rowe (piano), and Chris Sharrock (drums), as well as former Zutons member Russell Pritchard (bass). The band has also had a variety of guests contribute to albums such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus, Amorphous Androgynous, Johnny Marr, and Paul Weller.
Exotic Fever Records is an independent record label founded by Bonnie Schlegel in 2000 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Schlegel, formerly of the band Bald Rapunzel, enlisted the help of drummer Katy Otto in running the label. Currently operated by Otto in Philadelphia, bands have included The Shondes, Pygmylush, and 1905, which released their only album on the label. Nicholas Bernard Santino is an American musician, singer-songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the alternative rock band Beach Weather and former frontman of pop rock band A Rocket to the Moon. ARTTM albums included On Your Side (2009) and Wild and Free (2013) After the band broke up in 2013, he went on to pursue a solo career and has released numerous solo EPs and a full-length album, Big Skies, which was released on May 27, 2014. In 2015, he formed Beach Weather.
Uzi was an American alternative rock band, formed in 1984 in Boston, Massachusetts and disbanded in 1987. The band featured Thalia Zedek, Danny Lee (drums), Randy Barnwell, Bob Young (guitar) and Phil Milstein. Never achieving commercial success during their short period of activity, the band gained a cult following, becoming a part of Boston's underground rock scene.
