Jonathan Jones (born October 21, 1982) is the lead singer, pianist, song writer and co-founder of the alternative rock bands Waking Ashland and We Shot the Moon.
Jones lives in Cardiff, California. [1] He is an avid surfer and spends a good deal of time surfing while not on tour.
On Thursday, July 21, 2011, Jones proposed to longtime girlfriend Julie Coy after an afternoon surf session in Cardiff. In 2013 the couple moved to Woodland, California to pursue Julie's studies at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
In November 2003, he co-founded the rock band Waking Ashland. Together, they released two EP's and two LP's. Their first release was the 2004 debut EP I Am for You. This was followed by a record signing with Tooth and Nail Records, and the LP, Composure in May, 2005. After some band relationship troubles, they made their third release, Telescopes, with temporary band members. In April, 2007, the band released what would be their final album, The Well. In July 2007, Jones, speaking for the band, revealed that the band would no longer stay together.
We Shot the Moon formed after Jones's previous band, Waking Ashland, broke up. They have released one EP and two LP's. This new band's first release was The Polar Bear and Cougar EP in December 2007. This was followed by their first LP, Fear And Love in April 2008. In early 2009, they entered the studio once again to record their next album. This album, named A Silver Lining , was released on October 6, 2009. On March 5, 2013, the band released a new album called Love On.
On February 3, 2009, Jones started selling his solo CD, We Were Young, on various websites and on iTunes. Physical copies of the CD will be available "this fall when [he] does a solo tour". [2] A new solo album, entitled Community Group , was released on June 14, 2011.
In 2013, Jones and Katy McAllister, as the group Old Daisy, released a self-titled album.
In 2015, in collaboration with Randy Carney, under the name Supermassive, he released the album Major Major (online only, through Bandcamp).
Starting in 2015, under the name Bird Passengers, in collaboration with Nate Dodge, he has released several albums.

Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon. Doug Aldrich is an American hard rock guitarist. He founded the band Burning Rain with Keith St. John in 1998 and has played with Whitesnake, Dio, Lion, Hurricane, House of Lords, Bad Moon Rising and Revolution Saints. He is currently a member of The Dead Daisies. He has also released several solo albums. Doug toured with former Deep Purple bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes' band in 2015. It was announced in early 2016 that he would be replacing Richard Fortus as guitarist of The Dead Daisies.

Waking Ashland was an American rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 2003, they were signed to Tooth & Nail Records and Immortal Records. In all the group released two EPs and two full-length albums before their disestablishment in 2007. Their final lineup consisted of singer/keyboardist Jonathan Jones, guitarist Ryan Lallier, bassist Nate Harold and drummer Tim Very.
The Rosebuds were an American indie rock band from Raleigh, North Carolina, that recorded and performed from 2001 to 2014. Its current members are Ivan Howard (vocals/guitar/drums/bass/keyboards/programming) and Kelly Crisp (vocals/keyboard/drums/guitar/accordion). Billy Alphin had played drums on the album The Rosebuds Make Out, Wes Phillips played drums on the E.P."Unwind", Lee Waters played drums on the record Birds Make Good Neighbors, and Matt McCaughan played the drums on Night of the Furies, Life Like and Loud Planes Fly Low. Rob Lackey was behind the drum kit during the taping of The Rosebuds Live at the Cats Cradle, a charity only recording sold at cytunes.org to help fight for the prevention of cancer, as well as on the track "Second Birds of Paradise" on "Loud Planes Fly Low."

Menahan Street Band is an American, Brooklyn, New York–based instrumental band formed in 2007, that plays funk and soul music. The band features musicians from Antibalas, El Michels Affair, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and the Budos Band. The group was founded by Thomas Brenneck while living in an apartment on Menahan Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick. Their debut album, Make the Road by Walking, was released in 2008 on Dunham, a sublabel of Daptone Records and was followed by The Crossing in 2012.
Fear and Love is the debut LP by the San Diego rock band We Shot the Moon, made up of Jonathan Jones of Waking Ashland, and Dan Koch and Joe Greenetz both of Sherwood. It was released to iTunes on April 1, 2008, and in stores on April 29, 2008. The band hinted at a few key shows in the mountain west that the album would "leak" to the internet on Friday, January 18, 2008. The downloading service hit its limit of downloads that day, however the album is still available through various other websites and file sharing services.
Rookie of the Year is an indie rock/acoustic band from Fayetteville, North Carolina, fronted by lead singer/songwriter Ryan Dunson of Raleigh, North Carolina. They were signed to One Eleven Records, though their third release fulfilled their contractual obligation to One Eleven and allowed them to sign with a new label. Slow Club were an English duo formed in Sheffield in 2006. The band consisted of multi-instrumentalists Charles Watson and Rebecca Lucy Taylor, with Watson contributing piano, Taylor contributing drums, and both performing guitar and vocals. The band split in 2017 following an extensive tour to support their last album, with both members moving on to solo projects.
Red House Painters were an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1988, before relocating to San Francisco, California. They were one of the most prominent acts associated with the slowcore/sadcore subgenre. The band was formed by primary songwriter Mark Kozelek and drummer Anthony Koutsos. Together, the pair moved to San Francisco, California, where they were joined by bassist Jerry Vessel. Guitarists Gorden Mack and Phil Carney both performed with the band during separate six-year tenures.
Sherwood is an indie rock band from San Luis Obispo, California, specializing in upbeat pop rock. Members of the band cite The Beatles and The Beach Boys as some of their main influences. The band broke up in 2012 after ten years together. On September 28, 2015, the band announced via their Facebook page that they would be starting an Indiegogo account in order to crowdfund their fourth album, Some Things Never Leave You, which was released on June 17, 2016.
We Were Young is the debut solo album by Jonathan Jones, the singer and songwriter for the bands Waking Ashland and We Shot the Moon. The CD was first released to various websites and iTunes on February 3, 2009. Jones stated that physical copies of the CD will be available "this fall when [he] does a solo tour".

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are an English rock band formed in 2010 as the solo moniker of Oasis songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Noel Gallagher. The touring band consists of former Oasis members Gem Archer (guitar), Mike Rowe (piano), and Chris Sharrock (drums), as well as former Zutons bassist Russell Pritchard. The band has also had a variety of guests contribute to albums such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus, Amorphous Androgynous, Johnny Marr, and Paul Weller.
John Fields is an American record producer, recording engineer, mixer, and musician. Fields has produced for a number of musical artists, including the Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Pink, Har Mar Superstar, Miley Cyrus, Ben Rector, Andrew W.K., Busted and Demi Lovato. Exotic Fever Records is an independent record label founded by Bonnie Schlegel in 2000 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Schlegel, formerly of the band Bald Rapunzel, enlisted the help of drummer Katy Otto in running the label. Currently operated by Otto in Philadelphia, bands have included The Shondes, Pygmylush, and 1905, which released their only album on the label. To date, the label has issued over 50 releases, including an array of benefit compilations such as Keep Singing! A Benefit Compilation for Compassion Over Killing.
Uzi was an American alternative rock band, formed in 1984 in Boston, Massachusetts and disbanded in 1987. The band featured Thalia Zedek, Danny Lee (drums), Randy Barnwell, Bob Young (guitar) and Phil Milstein. Never achieving commercial success during their short period of activity, the band gained a cult following, becoming a part of Boston's underground rock scene.
