Jones Worldwide (JWW) formerly Jones Music, is a Nigerian music and management company, providing Artist & Label services. [1] The company is led by its chief executive officer Shay Jones, the former vice president, and Head of Artists and repertoire at The Aristokrat Group. [2] Jones Worldwide currently houses artists Seyi Shay, Ijekimora, with producers Kel-P, and Bruno Aikore.

History

Jones Music was founded in 2014 by David Olakot (better known as Shay Jones), as a record label. Following the end of a project licensing deal with the music duo Jones Lifestyle in 2016, the label paused all operations. [1] In 2020, following the exit of the vice president of The Aristokrat Group, the company rebranded it name from Jones Music to Jones Worldwide, and began all operations.

On 17 February 2020, the music company signed a strategic deal with Lifestyle image consultant, to help rebrand, visualize, and shape their image development. [3] Same day, JWW signed its first artists Ijekimora, and Bruno Aikore since the transition from Jones Music. [3] On 21 February 2021, King Perry signed a partnership deal with Jones Worldwide, to help conceptualize, and market his project Citizen of The World. [4] Seyi Shay second studio album Big Girl, was executively produced by Jones Worldwide. The album was released on 10 December 2021, after her first debut album Seyi or Shay (2015). Big Girl features Jones Worldwide CEO; Shay Jones on "Mine".

On 1 September 2022, Jones CEO/MD: Shay Jones and COO: Wiz Jones, where on the cover of the first issue of TurnTable Industry Digest. [5] On the magazine, the directors spoke about their journey, experience in Ghana and South Africa, their time in Aristokrat, being a former artiste and how it helps them as executives; during their conversation with TurnTable editor-in-chief Ayomide Oriowo. [6]

The group signed a recording deal with Sony's Columbia Records and was managed by Mathew Knowles' Music World Entertainment company. In November 2013, Shay signed an endorsement deal with telecommunications service provider Etisalat. In July 2015, she signed a record deal with Island Records. In 2015, she signed a two-year endorsement deal with Pepsi. Shay released her debut studio album Seyi or Shay in November 2015. It was supported by the promotional singles "Irawo", "Ragga Ragga", "Right Now" and "Murda", featuring Patoranking and Shaydee. Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Ebute Metta community of Lagos, he grew up sharing one room with his parents and five siblings. His modest upbringing and close relationship with his family instilled a drive and determination to create a better future, and led him to music He started his music career doing underground collaborations, with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. The Headies 2018 was the 12th edition of The Headies. It was held on May 5, 2018, at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Nigerian comedian Bovi and singer Seyi Shay hosted the ceremony. After shortlisting thousands of entries submitted during the eligibility period, the organizers of the ceremony announced the nominees in April 2018. They also announced the addition of three categories: Viewer's Choice, Best Performer, and Industry Brand Supporter. Simi led the nominations with 7, followed by Wizkid and Davido with 6 each. The ceremony featured performances from a number of artists, including Falz, Mr Real, Simi, and the Danfo Drivers. Pulse Nigeria praised the award's sound production and stage design. Davido, Wizkid and Simi won the most awards with 3 each. Mayorkun won the Next Rated award, beating Dice Ailes, Maleek Berry and Johnny Drille.

TurnTable charts is a catalog of relative weekly, and yearly popular songs in Nigeria. The results are published in TurnTable magazine. TurnTable provides additional weekly charts, as well as the End of the Year Top 50. The charts can be ranked according to airplay, and digital streaming. For main song charts such as the TurnTable Top 100, all three data are used to compile the charts. For End of the Year Top 50, streams and airplay from TurnTable Top 100 are included.

TurnTable is a Nigerian music and entertainment magazine founded by Ayomide Oriowo, and Similoluwa Adegoke. TurnTable focuses primarily on music charts, news, and events. Its music charts include the Top 100, and the Year-End chart. TurnTable magazine has two issues, and its first issue was published on 19 December 2020, by Similoluwa Adegoke. Its issues are printed in English language. In 2023 the magazine launched its music recording certification, TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria to represent the recording certification system of music industry in Nigeria.

<i>Mr. Money with the Vibe</i> 2022 studio album by Asake

Mr. Money with the Vibe is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Asake, following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022. It was released on 7 September 2022 through Empire Distribution. The album comprises 12 tracks, which were all produced by Magicsticks. The album features two guest appearances from Russ and Burna Boy. Two other tracks which have been previously released as singles from the album are "Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)" and "Terminator" which were released in June 2022 and August 2022 respectively. This album release is a follow-up to his extended play Ololade Asake which was released in February 2022 immediately after being signed by Olamide to YBNL. Following the album's release, it peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart in September 2022.

The TurnTable Top 100 Albums is the official album streaming chart in Nigeria. It is compiled every Tuesday by a Nigeria-based music digital streaming tracking company and published every Tuesday by TurnTable magazine. The list shows the 50 best-streaming music albums of the moment in Nigeria. The first issue of the Nigeria Top 50, was launched on Tuesday, 8 November 2022, and the first number-one album was Mr. Money with the Vibe by Asake.

Billion Dollar Baby is the second studio album by Nigerian street-pop singer Seyi Vibez. It was released on 2 November 2022, through Vibez Inc, and Dvpper Music. The album included guest appearances from Simi, and Mayorkun. The album is a mixture of Fuji, Tungba, and Apala rhythms. It was executively produced by Dvpper Music founder and CEO Dapper, and Seyi Vibez, along with production from TBM, Enta, QUE, FreshVDM, and Rexxie. The deluxe version of the album was released on 9 December 2022.
