Fela Aníkúlápó Kútì, also famously known as Abàmì Ẹ̀dá, was a Nigerian musician, bandleader, composer, political activist, and Pan-Africanist. He is regarded as the King of Afrobeat, a Nigerian music genre that combines West African music with African-American funk and jazz. At the height of his popularity, he was referred to as one of Africa's most "challenging and charismatic music performers". AllMusic described him as "a musical and sociopolitical voice" of international significance.
Jude Lemfani Abaga, commonly known by his stage name M.I Abaga, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is widely considered one of the greatest African rappers of all time. He gained recognition in 2006 with the popularization of his track "Crowd Mentality" in his home city of Jos. His debut studio album, Talk About It, was introduced in 2008, followed by MI 2: The Movie in 2010. Subsequently, he unveiled his third studio album, The Chairman, four years later. Additionally, Abaga released the playlist Rendezvous in February 2018, followed by A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl, in August of the same year. He released "The Guy" album in 2022.

Production was handled by P2J, Kel-P, KDaGreat, Sammy Soso, P Priime, Juls, Kofo, and Euro. It serves as the follow-up to Wizkid's previous album, Made in Lagos (2020). The album was supported by two singles, "Bad to Me", and "Money & Love". More Love, Less Ego is a pop, R&B, and Afrobeats album that includes lyrics about falling in love with women and engaging in sexual activity. According to Wizkid, he named the album the way it is because "everyone fights with their ego and that's where I'm at", explaining that "I'm still trying to shed my ego, like everyone else".
