Jordan Maksymic is a professional Canadian football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Early life

Maksymic grew up in St. Albert, Alberta, where he played at quarterback for his high school team, the Bellerose Bulldogs. [2] Upon graduation, he joined the team as an assistant coach for 2005 and 2006. [1] His neighbour, Tom Higgins, had introduced him to football while he was he head coach and general manager of the Edmonton Eskimos and invited him to work as a water boy in 2006 for the Calgary Stampeders while Higgins was the head coach for the team. [3] He then worked as a video coordinator for the Stampeders in 2007 and 2008. [3]

Coaching career

Northern Arizona

Maksymic worked as a graduate assistant for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in 2009 and 2010 while he went to school at Northern Arizona University. [1] [3]

Edmonton Eskimos

Maksymic was hired as the video coordinator for the Edmonton Eskimos in 2011 and also served in that role in 2012. [4] He was added to the coaching staff as an offensive assistant in 2013. [5]

Ottawa Redblacks

Maksymic was hired by the expansion Ottawa Redblacks in 2014 to serve as an offensive assistant on the coaching staff. [6] He was promoted to running backs coach for the 2015 season where the team made an appearance in the 103rd Grey Cup. [6]

Edmonton Eskimos (II)

In 2016, it was announced that Maksymic had re-joined the Edmonton Eskimos to be part of Jason Maas' staff as the team's quarterbacks coach. [7] In 2018, he added the title of pass game coordinator in addition to his quarterback coaching duties. [8] He was further promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the 2019 season, although Maas continued to call the plays. [9]

BC Lions

Following a coaching change in Edmonton, Maksymic joined the BC Lions in January 2020 as the team's offensive coordinator, reuniting him with former Redblacks head coach, Rick Campbell. [2] In his first season calling plays, quarterback Michael Reilly led the league in passing and the Lions had two receivers, Bryan Burnham and Lucky Whitehead, named as CFL All-Stars. [10]

Crandell was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Player after the Stampeders won the 89th Grey Cup in 2001. He also won a Grey Cup championship with the Roughriders in 2007 as the team's backup quarterback.

Jason Maas is the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and a former Canadian football quarterback in the CFL. He is best known for his playing career with the Edmonton Eskimos where he won two Grey Cup championships. He also played for the Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He has coached the Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Redblacks, and Saskatchewan Roughriders and was the head coach of the Eskimos from 2016 to 2019.

Henry Armand Burris Jr. is an American former professional football quarterback, and a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. He is currently the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Florida A&M. Burris played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1998 to 2016. He won three Grey Cup championships, two with the Calgary Stampeders, in 1998 and 2008, having spent 10 years of his career with them, and one with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016. He was also a sports broadcaster and football analyst at TSN, appearing as a panel member on the network's CFL on TSN broadcasts.

Danny Barrett is an American football coach and former player who is the running backs coach for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He served as the interim head coach for the UCF Knights in 2015, and is a former Canadian Football League (CFL) quarterback. He has been the head coach of the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders and the running backs coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Khari Okang Jones is a former professional Canadian football player and was most recently the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was formerly the head coach for the Montreal Alouettes. He is also a former television sports reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Jones played quarterback in the CFL, where he enjoyed his most success with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Jones also played briefly for the Arena Football League's Albany Firebirds and the World League of American Football's Scottish Claymores. He has also been the offensive coordinator for the BC Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Jarious K. Jackson is an American professional football coach and former player who is the offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has also been a coach for the Toronto Argonauts, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and BC Lions and served as the interim head coach for the Elks in 2024. Jackson played professionally as a quarterback in the CFL for eight seasons with the Lions and one year with the Argonauts where he won three Grey Cup championships in 2006, 2011, and 2012. He has also been a member of the Denver Broncos (NFL), to whom he was drafted 214th overall in the 2000 NFL draft, and the Barcelona Dragons. Jackson played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

He has also been the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Edmonton Eskimos and defensive coordinator for the Ottawa Redblacks. He played college football at the defensive tackle position for the Bakersfield College Renegades before transferring to York University to play for the Yeomen.

Craig Dickenson is a professional football coach who is a senior consultant for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has also served as the head coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for four seasons. He has coached professional football since 2000 and won a Grey Cup championship with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders in 2008 and with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2015.

The 2014 CFL season was the 61st season of modern-day Canadian football. It was the 57th Canadian Football League season. Vancouver hosted the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30. The league expanded to nine teams with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks, giving the CFL nine teams for the first time since the 2005 season. As a result of the expansion, the schedule shifted to a 20-week regular season plus three weeks of playoffs ; the season started on June 26, 2014.

Rick Campbell is an American-Canadian professional football coach who was most recently the head coach and co-general manager for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was the Calgary Stampeders' defensive coordinator from 2012 to 2013 and was also an assistant coach with the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He then served as the head coach for the Ottawa Redblacks for six seasons. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion, once as the special teams coordinator with the Eskimos in 2003, again with the Eskimos as the defensive coordinator in 2005, and once as the head coach of the Redblacks in 2016. He attended Washington State University.

The 2015 CFL season was the 62nd season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 58th Canadian Football League season. The Edmonton Eskimos won the 103rd Grey Cup on November 29, defeating the Ottawa Redblacks 26–20 in Winnipeg. The schedule was released February 13, 2015 and the regular season began on June 25, 2015.

The 2016 CFL season was the 63rd season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 59th Canadian Football League season. Toronto hosted the 104th Grey Cup on November 27. The regular season began on June 23 and ended on November 5.

The 2017 CFL season was the 64th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 60th season of the Canadian Football League. The regular season began on June 22 and concluded on November 4. The playoffs commenced on November 12 and concluded on November 26 with the Toronto Argonauts defeating the Calgary Stampeders to win the 105th Grey Cup.
