Laure Manaudou is a retired French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 meter. She is the older sister of Florent Manaudou who is also an Olympic gold medalist swimmer.
Federica Pellegrini is an Italian retired swimmer. A native of Mirano, in the province of Venice, she won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Pellegrini became the first woman ever to break the 4-minute barrier in the 400 m freestyle with a time of 3:59.15. She also held the women's 200 meters freestyle world record.
Marcel Reinier Wouda is a Dutch former swimmer, who became the first Dutch world champion in men's swimming when he won the world title in the 200 m individual medley at the 1998 World Aquatics Championships in Perth, Australia. He was the coach of Olympic champions Maarten van der Weijden and Hinkelien Schreuder at the Nationaal Zweminstituut Eindhoven.

Giorgio Lamberti is an Italian former swimmer. In 1991 he became the first swimmer of Italy to win a world title, and gold medal, at a FINA World Aquatics Championships. He formerly held world records in the short course and long course 200 metre freestyle as well as in the short course 400 metre freestyle.
Anders Holmertz is a Swedish retired swimmer who was a leader in freestyle races in the 1980s and at the beginning of the 1990s, though often missing personal success. He also settled a record in the 400 m freestyle. He is the brother of another Swedish swimmer, Mikael Holmertz.

Ragnhild Tove Hveger was a Danish swimmer, who won silver medal in the women's 400 m freestyle at the 1936 Summer Olympics. From 1936 to 1943 she set 44 world records, and at one time she held 19 world records in different distances and disciplines. In 1938 she won three gold medals at the European championships.
Irma Heijting-Schuhmacher was a freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands who won two medals at the Summer Olympics. After having claimed the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay in London (1948), she won the silver medal four years later in Helsinki, Finland, in the same event. Individually, she was sixth in the 100 m freestyle at both games. She also won two gold and two silver medals at the 1947 and 1950 European Championships.

Alexandre Charles Sixte "Alex" Jany was a French freestyle swimmer and water polo player. As a swimmer, he competed in 100–400 m events at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics, alongside his sister Ginette Jany-Sendral, and he won bronze medals in the 4 × 200 m relay in 1948 and 1952. In 1948 he placed fifth-sixth in the individual 100 m and 400 m events; he won those events at the 1947 and 1950 European championships, setting world records in both in 1947. At the 1960 Olympics he competed only in water polo and placed ninth. In 1977 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Camille Muffat was a French swimmer and three-time Olympic medalist. Swimming for the Olympic Nice Natation club, she specialised in the individual medley and the free style events. Her career ran from 2005 to 2014.
Evelyn Tokue Kawamoto, also known by her married name as Evelyn Konno, was an American competition swimmer, and American record holder, who won bronze medals in the 400-meter individual freestyle and the 4x100-meter freestyle relay events at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. She set American records in both the 300-meter IM and 200-meter breaststroke in 1949. After graduating the University of Hawaii in her 30's with a degree in Education, she worked as an elementary school teacher.
Yannick Agnel is a French former competitive swimmer who specialized in freestyle events, and is a three-time Olympic medalist. In his Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won gold in the 200-meter freestyle, gold in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and silver in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. He is the current world record holder in the 400-meter freestyle, the European record holder in the 800-meter freestyle, and the national record holder in the 200- and 400-meter freestyle.
Kees Hoving was a Dutch swimmer who specialized in the 100m freestyle event. He won the 1938 European Aquatics Championships with a time of 59.8 seconds, becoming the first Dutch male athlete to win a European swimming title and to swim 100 meters within one minute. After that he did not compete internationally, except for the 1947 European Aquatics Championships, due to World War II and later due to a conflict with his swimming club. However, he won the national championships in 1937, 1938, 1941, 1946 and 1948, and set eight national records between 1937 and 1946. His records were broken only in 1950, by Joris Tjebbes.
Mette Ove-Petersen was a Danish swimmer who won a silver medal at the 1950 European Aquatics Championships in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. She finished fourth in the same event at the 1952 Summer Olympics; individually, she was eliminated in the preliminaries of the 100 m and 400 m freestyle. Ove-Petersen died on 17 February 2007, at the age of 73.
Colette Thomas was a French swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 400 m freestyle at the 1950 European Aquatics Championships. She competed in four freestyle events at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Summer Olympics with the best achievement of seventh place in the 4 × 100 m relay in 1948.
Ingrid Marianne Lundquist was a Swedish freestyle swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1950 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics in the 100 m, 400 m and 4 × 100 m events with the best result of sixth place in the relay in 1952. She died 10 April 2020, from COVID-19.
Eva Malin Ingegärd Fredin was a Swedish freestyle swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1950 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics in the 100 m, 400 m and 4 × 100 m events with the best result of fifth place in the 100 m in 1948.
Béryl Émilie Paulette Gastaldello is a French swimmer and French national record holder in the 50-meter backstroke who competed for Texas A&M University, and participated in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics in freestyle and stroke events. Excelling in international competition, she was a five-time gold medal winner in individual and relay freestyle events at the European Championships.
