Joseph Bakosoro also known as Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro is a South Sudanese politician. He is the current Minister of public service in central Equatoria,Juba. He served as governor of Western Equatoria after winning an election over Jemma Nunu Kumba,serving from 26 May 2010 to August 2015,at which time he was arrested by security officials of South Sudan for suspicions to his being linked with the arrow boys,an armed local defense force originally formed to protect local communities from attacks by the Lord's Resistance Army,later released on April 27,2016. He rejoined SPLM on 15 July 2021 and currently he is the Minister of Public Service of the Republic of South Sudan,Central Equatoria State Juba. [3] [4]
Bakosoro was dismissed by the presidential decree in August 2015. [5] He was removed as governor of Western Equatoria State in August 2015 together with the governor of Central Equatoria Clement Wani,Governor of Warrap Nyadeng Malek and Governor of Upper Nile Simon Kun Poch. [6]
Equatoria is a region of southern South Sudan,along the upper reaches of the White Nile. Originally a province of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan,it also contained most of northern parts of present-day Uganda,including Lake Albert and West Nile. It was an idealistic effort to create a model state in the interior of Africa that never consisted of more than a handful of adventurers and soldiers in isolated outposts.
Lakes State is a state in South Sudan. It has an area of 43,595.08 km2. Rumbek is the capital of the state. Lakes is in the Bahr el Ghazal region of South Sudan,in addition to Northern Bahr el Ghazal,Western Bahr el Ghazal,and Warrap states. Bahr el Ghazal itself was a former province which was split from the Anglo-Egyptian mudiriyat,or province of Equatoria in 1948. The eastern border was the White Nile with Jonglei State on the opposite bank. To the northeast lied the Unity State. Other borders included Warrap State towards the northwest,Western Equatoria to the south and west,and Central Equatoria to the south.

Central Equatoria seceded from Sudan as part of the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 2011. The state's capital,Juba,is also the national capital of South Sudan. Western Equatoria is a state in South Sudan. It has an area of 79,343 square kilometres (30,635 sq mi). Its capital is Yambio. The state was divided into counties,each headed by a County Commissioner. Western Equatoria seceded from Sudan as part of the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 1956. On October 2,2011,the state was divided into Amadi,Maridi,and Gbudwe states,and Tambura State was split from Gbudwe state on January 14,2015. Western Equatoria was re-established by a peace agreement signed on 22 February 2020.

The University of Juba is an English-language public university located in Juba,South Sudan. It was founded in 1975 under by the former Vice president of and President of Southern Sudan,Abel Alier Kwai. The university was temporarily relocated to Khartoum as a result of the Second Sudanese Civil War,and moved back to Juba in July 2011,after South Sudan obtained independence. It is the best ranked university in South Sudan.
The South Sudan People's Defence Forces (SSPDF),formerly the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA),is the army of the Republic of South Sudan. The SPLA was founded as a guerrilla movement against the government of Sudan in 1983 and was a key participant of the Second Sudanese Civil War,led by John Garang. After Garang's death in 2005,Salva Kiir was named the SPLA's new Commander-in-Chief. As of 2010,the SPLA was divided into divisions of 10,000–14,000 soldiers.

Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba is a South Sudanese politician. She is the current Minister of Gender,Child and Social Welfare of South Sudan. She founded the Sudan women Parliamentary Caucus in 2004 at the start of the comprehensive peace agreement. She was chosen by the SPLM as the speaker of the Revitalised Transitional National Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA). She became the first woman to preside over the parliament of South Sudan.
Juba County is an administrative area in Central Equatoria state,South Sudan. It was the largest county in Central Equatoria and one of the largest in the entire region of Equatoria. Its county seat was Juba,the state capital of Central Equatoria and the national capital of the Republic of South Sudan.
Clement Wani Konga is a Mundari leader who fought in the Anyanya independence movement in the south of Sudan in 1969−72. He then joined the army of Sudan and rose to the rank of major general. In 2004 he made peace with the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and was appointed interim governor of Central Equatoria in South Sudan. In August 2015 he was dismissed from his post by president Salva Kiir Mayardit. He continued to be active as chairperson of the Mundari Community.
Ajonye Perpetua Paya is a South Sudanese constitutional lawyer,judge and human rights activist. Until 2013 she was a first class justice in the South Sudan judiciary. She assisted in drafting the 2005 interim constitution of Sudan. She served in the cabinet of Central Equatoria State in 2011,then in the cabinet of President Salva Kiir Mayardit,who dismissed her in May 2013. Since then she has held leadership positions in the South Sudan Law Society and has often spoken on civil rights issues including women's rights and gender-based violence. In 2023 she headed the Secretariat of the Judicial Reform Committee (JRC) of South Sudan.
The South Sudanese Civil War was a multi-sided civil war in South Sudan between forces of the government and opposition forces. In December 2013,President Kiir accused his former deputy Riek Machar and 10 others of attempting a coup d'état. Machar denied trying to start a coup and fled to lead the SPLM –in opposition (SPLM-IO). Fighting broke out between the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and SPLM-IO,igniting the civil war. Ugandan troops were deployed to fight alongside the South Sudanese government. The United Nations has peacekeepers in the country as part of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Maridi State was a state in South Sudan that existed between 2 October 2015 and 22 February 2020. It was formed on 2 October 2015 from Western Equatoria state. It was located in the Equatoria region. Maridi State bordered the states of Amadi State,Gbudwe State,Western Lakes State,and Yei River State.
The Equator Broadcasting Corporation also known by its acronym EBC is the public-service broadcaster of Central Equatoria State. The organization is headquartered at Juba,the capital of Central Equatoria State in South Sudan and transmits on a frequency of 89.4FM and EBC TV. It was established by a gubernatorial degree in 2012 to perform the works of radio and television broadcast. With the existence of the media laws,EBC became the first state public broadcaster in the Republic of South Sudan.

Isaiah Kulang Mabor DengDak Anguany was a South Sudanese politician who was Minister for Communications,Transport and Roads and member of the People's Regional Assembly,in the capital of Juba,serving as Speaker of the House between 1979 and 1980. Kulang was a prominent member of the Southern Front by then and in the late 1980s he participated actively in founding the United Sudan African Party (USAP).
Paulino Lukudu Obede,is a South Sudanese politician. Lukudu was a member of the South Sudan National Dialogue and currently a member of the Transitional National Legislature which is equivalent to senate in other countries. He was appointed among the appointees of the Other Political Parties on 17 September 2021.

Moro is currently the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement for Central Equatoria State in the Transitional Government of National Unity,as of 2023.
