Joshua James Alphonse Franceschi (born 7 August 1990) is an English singer and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist of rock band You Me at Six.
Franceschi was born to parents Anne Franceschi and Christian Franceschi in Weybridge, Surrey.[ citation needed ] He is of Corsican-French (paternal) descent. He has one sister, Elissa Franceschi, who is also a vocalist. [1] He lived in Cyprus in his early childhood, but later moved to Twickenham to live with his grandmother. At the age of 9, he moved back to Weybridge. [2] He attended Heathside School until he was 16, and then moved to Esher College, where he studied A-Levels in politics, history and film studies. He currently lives in Brighton. [3]
In 2016, Franceschi criticised the reselling of tickets for extortionate prices, claiming there are consequences for both musicians and fans. [4] He joined other musicians and industry figures under the Fanfair Alliance to combat ticket touting. [5] Franceschi spoke against the rising issue along with Ian McAndrew and Annabella Coldrick in Parliament. [6] Many MPs backed the argument, agreeing the importance of addressing the issue. [6]
Franceschi is vegan. The band organised a pop-up vegan kebab shop following the release of their album VI . [7] He is an Arsenal fan. [8] In 2021, Franceschi tweeted that he is the cousin of McFly bassist, Dougie Poynter. [9]

It is the band's first release on the major label Virgin Records. Like their debut album, the album was once again Centropy produced and engineered by John Mitchell and Matt O'Grady. "The Consequence" was made available for free digital download before the first single, "Underdog" preceded the album's release. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Hold Me Down was a commercial success and debuted at No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart and is certified Gold in the UK for 100,000 shipments of copies.
Sinners Never Sleep is the third studio album by English rock band You Me at Six. It was released on 3 October 2011 through Virgin Records. While touring in support of their second studio album Hold Me Down (2010), the band wrote slow-tempo material and heavy-sounding songs. Between March and May 2011, they recorded with producer Garth Richardson at Sunset Sound and The Sound Factory in Los Angeles, California. Partway through the process, vocalist Josh Franceschi suffered a panic attack, which resulted in him being hospitalized and the band losing time in the studio. Described as an alternative rock and pop rock album, Sinners Never Sleep was a departure from the pop punk sound of their previous releases.

Neal Avron was enlisted to produce the band's next album, which was recorded in July and August 2013 at NRG Studio and Avron's home studio La Casita, both in Los Angeles, California. Cavalier Youth is an alternative rock and pop rock album, which saw input from the rest of the band members on the lyrics.

Vinyl Theatre is an American indie rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formed by Keegan Calmes and Chris Senner. The band later grew to include Josh Pothier and Nick Cesarz. Before being signed to an official record label, they produced several singles that were released on the band's SoundCloud page, leading up to the release of Chromatic EP in 2014. The band was then signed to Fueled by Ramen later in 2014. They released their first studio album, Electrogram, with Fueled by Ramen on September 23, 2014. Vinyl Theatre supported the album by going on a national tour in the United States with the musical duo Twenty One Pilots.
Night People is the fifth studio album by English rock band You Me at Six. Following an 18-month touring cycle for Cavalier Youth, the group took a break. In the autumn, the group worked on new music at drummer Dan Flint's house, and subsequently tracked demos with Ross Orton. Reconvening in January 2016, the group were in discussions with several different producers before being approached by Jacquire King. The group then went to Nashville, Tennessee to record their new album with King in February. Majority of the album was recorded live-in-the-studio, an approach the group hadn't attempted before. The group returned home to write more material before returning to the studio. Recording subsequently wrapped up in June. Night People was announced in August, followed by the single release of the title-track.
VI is the sixth studio album by English rock band You Me at Six, released on 5 October 2018 through Underdog Records and AWAL. Within months of releasing their fifth studio album Night People in early 2017, the members expressed a disliking for it and were already working on its follow-up by September 2017. They went on residential studio writing retreats in Reading, Berkshire and Bury St Edmunds, and subsequently met with various producers. Dan Austin was then enlisted, and the band recorded their next album at VADA Studios in Alcester in May 2018. VI is a pop and rock album that incorporates electronic influences, which guitarist Max Helyer attributed to the works of Jess Glynne, Two Door Cinema Club and the Weeknd.
Suckapunch is the seventh studio album by English rock band You Me at Six. It was released on 15 January 2021, through the band's own label Underdog Records and AWAL. Within a month of releasing their sixth studio album VI, they had recorded "What's It Like" at VADA Studios in Alcester in November 2018. The touring circle for that album continued into mid-2019, when they started recording a new album with Dan Austin in October and November 2019 at Karma Sound Studios in Bang Saray, Thailand. Suckapunch is a rock album with electronic, hip hop and R&B influences.
