Josh Stowers is a Republican former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates,serving from 2009 to 2013. Stowers resigned from the legislature to take a job as Deputy State Treasurer of West Virginia. Stowers was also previously an assistant principal at Horace Mann Middle School. [1]
Stowers was elected to a six-year term as a Lincoln County Commissioner in November 2018.
n January 2023,Stowers changed his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He was subsequently successful in the 2024 Republican primary for his second term on the Lincoln County Commission,winning over his challenger by a margin of over 15%.

Francis Harrison Pierpont,called the "Father of West Virginia," was an American lawyer and politician who achieved prominence during the American Civil War. During the conflict's first two years,Pierpont served as Governor of the Restored Government of Virginia and,in this capacity,administered the part of Virginia then under Unionist control before West Virginia's admission to the Union as a separate state. After recognizing the creation of West Virginia,Pierpont continued to serve as Governor of the Restored Government. However,the degree of civil authority he could exercise was minimal for the remainder of the war. Having claimed to be the legitimate Governor of Virginia for the duration of the conflict,Pierpont assumed civil control of the state's entire post-1863 territory following the dissolution of the Confederacy and continued to serve as Governor during the early years of Reconstruction.

West Virginia was given three seats from Virginia after the former broke away from the latter to rejoin the union as a separate state. The seceded states remained unrepresented and left 58 vacancies. Republicans lost 22 seats and the majority,while Democrats gained 28.

Earl Ray Tomblin is an American politician who served as the 35th governor of West Virginia from 2011 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served in the West Virginia Senate from 1980 to 2011 and as president of the West Virginia Senate from 1995 to 2011. Tomblin became acting governor in November 2010 following Joe Manchin's election to the U.S. Senate. He won a special election in October 2011 to fill the unexpired term ending on January 14,2013,and was elected to a full term as governor in November 2012.
Alexander Xavier Mooney is an American politician serving since 2015 as the U.S. representative from West Virginia's 2nd congressional district. A member of the Republican Party,he represented the 3rd district in the Maryland State Senate from 1999 to 2011 and is a former chair of the Maryland Republican Party. Loudoun County,Virginia is divided into eight magisterial districts:Algonkian,Ashburn,Broad Run,Catoctin,Dulles,Leesburg,Little River,and Sterling. The magisterial districts each elect one supervisor to the Board of Supervisors which governs Loudoun County. There is also a Chair elected by the county at-large,bringing total Board membership to nine. Board members serve concurrent,four-year terms. A Vice Chair is selected by the Board from among its membership. The current Chair is Phyllis Randall and the current Vice Chair is Juli Briskman,the Algonkian District Supervisor. She has served as Vice Chair since January 2024. Salaries for the current Board term of 2024-2027 were set by the previous Board in January 2023.

Republicans Matthew Geary and Bill Janis and Democrat Shannon Taylor all ran for Attorney,with Taylor beating both in the general election.
