Mathole Serofo Motshekga is a South African lawyer and politician who was elected to his third consecutive term as a Member of Parliament in the 2019 general election. He formerly represented his political party, the African National Congress (ANC), as the second Premier of Gauteng.
North West is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa, the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It is conterminous with the province of North West. The constituency currently elects 13 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 1,702,728 registered electors.

He was first elected to that position after the 2014 general election and he represents the African National Congress. He formerly served in both the National Assembly and the Free State Provincial Legislature, and he was a Member of the Free State Executive Council from 2004 to 2013.
Comely Humphrey Maqocwa Maxegwana is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2014 until 2019, when he failed to gain re-election. Nkosinathi Benson Fihla is a South African politician and former anti-apartheid activist who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1994 to 2013. He subsequently served as Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality from March 2013 until May 2015. Fihla first joined the ANC in 1954 through its Youth League and he was imprisoned on Robben Island from 1964 to 1978 for his work with Umkhonto we Sizwe.
Letsau Nelson Diale was a South African politician and anti-apartheid activist from Limpopo. He joined the African National Congress (ANC) in 1956 and served eight years' imprisonment on Robben Island, from 1964 to 1972, for his work with Umkhonto we Sizwe. After the end of apartheid, he represented the ANC in the National Council of Provinces from 1994 to 1999 and in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2014.
Judy Chalmers is a retired South African politician and activist who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1994 to 2009. During apartheid, she was the chairperson of the Black Sash in the Eastern Cape.
Johannes Jacobus "Hannes" Combrinck was a South African politician, civil servant and farmer who represented the Northern Cape in the National Assembly from 2004 to 2009. He represented the African National Congress (ANC), which he joined in 1998 after becoming disillusioned with the National Party. He later served as Speaker of Dawid Kruiper Local Municipality from 2009 to 2011 and was still working in municipal administration in the Northern Cape when he died in 2020.
Ntombazana Gertrude Winifred Botha is a South African politician who served as Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture from 2004 to 2009 and before that as Deputy Minister of Provincial and Local Government from 2001 to 2004. She represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1997 until 2009, when she retired from frontline politics. During the 1980s, she was involved in community organising in the anti-apartheid struggle and was the founding secretary of the United Democratic Front in East London.
Loretta Jacobus, formerly known as Loretta Bastardo-Ibanez, is a South African politician who served as Deputy Minister of Correctional Services from February 2006 to May 2009. She represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2004 to 2013.
Nomvula Lillian Hlangwana is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1996 to 2003 and later from 2007 to 2009. She also sat in the North West Provincial Legislature from 1994 to 1996 and from 2006 to 2007, and she was the Mayor of Mafikeng from 2003 to 2006. She is a former member of the ANC's Provincial Executive Committee in the North West.
Annelizé van Wyk is a South African politician who served in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2014, excepting a brief hiatus in 2009. She represented the United Democratic Movement (UDM) until April 2003, when she crossed the floor to the African National Congress (ANC). She chaired the Portfolio Committee on Police from 2012 to 2014.
Ntombikayise Margaret Twala is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2007 to 2014, serving the Eastern Cape constituency. She had first joined the assembly during the first post-apartheid Parliament but had lost her seat in 2004. She is a former member of the national executive committee of the ANC Women's League.

During apartheid, he was a prominent member of a network of Charterist union organisers in the Transvaal, as well as a founding member of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and president of the General and Allied Workers' Union (GAWU).
Mdumiseni Richard Sikakane, also spelled Richard Sikhakhane, was a South African politician and stalwart of the African National Congress (ANC). He joined Umkhonto weSizwe in 1963 and was involved in its underground structures in the Greater Durban area for the next three decades. After the end of apartheid, he represented the ANC in the National Assembly for three terms from 1994 to 2009.
Dibeela Gertrude Mothupi is a South African politician who has been a part-time member of the Commission for Gender Equality since 2019. She was Mayor of Mangaung from 2006 to 2008 and served in the Free State Provincial Legislature.
Irene Mutsila was a South African politician from Limpopo. Formerly an anti-apartheid activist and poet, she was the first woman mayor of Vhembe District Municipality from 2006 to 2007. Before that, she represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Council of Provinces from 1994 to 1999 and in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2004.
Frans Tlokwe Maserumule is a South African politician and former anti-apartheid activist. He represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly, serving the Limpopo constituency, from 1999 to 2009 and later from 2010 to 2014.
Holmes Peter Maluleka is a South African politician and businessman from Gauteng. A former Umkhonto we Sizwe operative, he represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2004 to 2014. During that period, he chaired the Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises from 2010 to 2014. He later served on the board of South African Airways.
