Julie Stahmer Linsey (born 1979) [1] is an American mechanical engineer whose research concerns creativity in the early phases of engineering design. She is a professor in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. [2]
Linsey majored in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, graduating in 2001. After working for a year at Agilent Technologies, she went to the University of Texas at Austin for graduate study in mechanical engineering, earning a master's degree in 2005 and completing her Ph.D. in 2007. [3]
She became an assistant professor at Texas A&M University in 2008, and moved to Georgia Tech in 2013. She was promoted to associate professor in 2015, [3] and to full professor in 2021. [4]
Linsey was the 2012 winner of the Ferdinand P. Beer and E. Russell Johnston, Jr. Outstanding New Mechanics Educator Award of the American Society for Engineering Education. [5]
George Waldo Woodruff was an engineer, businessman, and philanthropist in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1917 and gave generously to both his alma mater and Emory University, including what was at the time the single largest donation ever to a school, $105 million to Emory University in 1979.

John Saylor Coon was the first Mechanical Engineering and Drawing Professor at Georgia Tech, and he was also the first chair of Georgia Tech's Mechanical Engineering Department. Coon made significant contributions to the school during his 35-year career at Georgia Tech.

Linsey Chen Marr is an American scientist who is the Charles P. Lunsford Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. Her research considers the interaction of nanomaterials and viruses with the atmosphere. During the COVID-19 pandemic Marr studied how SARS-CoV-2 and other airborne pathogens could be transported in air. In 2023, she was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.

Sindee Lou Simon is an American chemical engineer and polymer physicist who studies the glass transition, thermosetting polymers, and nanoconfinement. Her research has included studies of ancient amber, showing that unlike liquids glass does not flow. She is the head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University.
Janet Katherine Allen is an American biochemist and industrial engineer whose research concerns uncertainty in the engineering design process and its quantification and control through robust design processes, statistical methods, simulation of alternative designs, and the use of the design of experiments to systematically explore alternatives in large design spaces. She is a professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Oklahoma, where she holds the John and Mary Moore Chair of Engineering.

She is an associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also holds the Don M. Cunningham Chair in Mechanical Engineering.
