K. Appavu Pillai Memorial Bus Terminus is located on National Highway 44, Hosur, India. The integrated bus terminus which operates both City and Moffusil Bus Terminus.
In the early 1980s, the bus station was built and named after former MLA and Hosur town panchayat president Mr. K. Appavu Pillai. In 2007 due to the National Highway road expansion, the bus terminus was reconstructed, costing 6.80-10.5 crores. The new terminus was again named after Pillai and inaugurated by M. K. Stalin on 18 July 2010. [1] [2]
The terminus has 53 bus bays with modern amenities. The associated shopping complex ks named after Former Chief Minister Mr. C. N. Annadurai. It offers 48 shops on the ground floor and 28 shops on the first floor.[ citation needed ]
The terminus is managed by the municipality of Hosur. Some 2,000 buses operate there daily. [3]
Local and long-distance buses stop there. Bangalore is the most frequent long-distance service. Bengaluru buses have a semi-detached area at the front of the bus stand for easy access to the passengers. Tamil Nadu State Road Transport Corporation, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation buses operate there.[ citation needed ]

K. Appavu Pillai is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Hosur. K. Appavu Pillai, popularly known as K.A.P, was an idealist and farsighted visionary in erstwhile Salem District and in Hosur town particularly. K. Appavu Pillai was elected as a Panchayat President, Hosur during the British regime (1943) for 30 long years till he breath his last on 1 October 1973. He won the 1957 State Assembly Election for Hosur Constituency and was instrumental in establishing SIPCOT in Hosur.
Mysuru Road Bus Station (MRBS), is one of the four major bus stations that serve as mofussil bus station hubs for the city of Bengaluru, India. It is located on Mysuru road. The other three major bus stations in Bengaluru are Kempegowda Bus Station (KBS), Shantinagara Bus Station (SBS) and Basaveshwara Bus Station (BBS). It is the second busiest mofussil bus station in Bengaluru only after Kempegowda Bus Station. It started functioning in 2005.
