Dr K. P. Ramalingam is an Indian politician and elected as member of parliament candidate in June,2010 for Rajya Sabha. He is also a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Rasipuram constituency in 1980 and 1984 elections. [2] [3]

The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Vijayakant (Captain) at Madurai on 14 September 2005. In 2014 he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Nagapattinam as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the 2014 election. He won the seat with 46.06% and was elected Member of Parliament for Nagapattinam for 16th Lok Sabha.
