The KPGA Championship is a men's professional golf tournament that has been held annually in South Korea since 1958. Together with the Korea Open it is the longest running event on the Korean Tour. It is organised by the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA). Since 2016 the total purse has been KRW1,000,000,000 with KRW200,000,000 to the winner.

Contents

The 2017 Championship was won by Hwang Jung-gon. This win gave him an invitation to play in the CJ Cup in October 2017, the first PGA Tour event played in Korea. [1]

Choi Kyung-Ju, commonly known as K. J. Choi, is a South Korean professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Since turning pro in 1994, he has won more than twenty professional golf tournaments worldwide, including eight on the PGA Tour. His most notable victory came at the 2011 Players Championship, and he has spent 40 weeks in the top-10 of the world rankings.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship, founded as the Westchester Classic in 1967, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Since 2007, it has been played as the first tournament of the playoff system for the FedEx Cup, with the field limited to the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup points list at the end of the regular season; prior to 2023, the top 125 players were included. Orville James Moody was an American professional golfer who won numerous tournaments in his career. He won the U.S. Open in 1969, the last champion in the 20th century to win through local and sectional qualifying.

The GS Caltex Maekyung Open, as it is known for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament that takes place in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It was established in 1982, replacing the Korea Open as the South Korean event on the Asia Golf Circuit. Between 1999 and 2009 it was a stop on the Asian Tour, and then in 2010 it became part of the OneAsia Tour schedule. Since 2018, it has again been a fixture on the Asian Tour, except for 2020 and 2021 due to restrictions in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In May 2018, Thomas became the 21st player to top the Official World Golf Ranking.

The KPGA Tour Championship is a professional golf tournament on the Korean Tour. It has generally been played in November, one of the last events of the season. The 2018 event was played at Lake Hills Golf Club in Anseong, South Korea.

Kim Seong-hyeon, also known as S. H. Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He has also played on the Japan Golf Tour and the Korean Tour. He won the 2020 KPGA Championship on the Korean Tour and the 2021 Japan PGA Championship on the Japan Golf Tour.
