KV Tirana (Klubi i Volejbollit Tirana) are the men's and women's volleyball branches of multiple sport club SK Tirana, a major sports club in Tirana, Albania. [1] [2] KV Tirana volleyball men's and women's team are amongst the successful and historical squads in Albania.
On August 16, 1920, the patriot P. Nika altogether with gentlemen A. Erebara, P. Jakova, A. Hoxha, A. Koja, P. Berisha, A. Zajmi, H. Fortuzi, B. Pazari, L. Berisha, S. Frasheri, H. Alizoti, A. Gjitomi and V. Fekeci founded "Agimi Sports Association". In 1927 on the initiative of Mr S. Stermasi, Mr A. Erebara, Mr A. Zajmi and Mr A. Koja, "Agimi" changed its name to Sportklub Tirana (SK Tirana).
KV Tirana (men's) are 11 times Champions of Albania, and also 9 times winners of Albanian Cup, standing at top-4 clubs, along with Dinamo Tirana, Studenti and Partizani Tirana. KV Tirana have also won two international trophies; Independence Cup in 2021 and Gjergj Kastrioti League a year later. White and blues have participated in European competitions, and in many friendly international tournaments, where occasionally have reached successes, like eliminating Lausanne of Switzerland in the 1st round of 1990–91 Cup Winners Cup winning in points difference, before being knocked out from Milberstofer München in the 2nd round losing 1-3 & 0-3. Tirana repeated successes also in 1995–96 and 1996–97 seasons when eliminated Buducnost Podgorica and OL Kakanj Bosnia. Since 1996 KV Tirana (Men's) team have only won a few trophies, however are staying into competition every season.

KV Tirana (Women's) are 20 times Champions of Albania, having a shared League title record with KS Dinamo, 11 times winners of Albanian Cup and once winners of Supercup, thus being one of two clubs with most trophies in Albania. KV Tirana are also winners of the Nationwide Volleyball Supercup in 2011. Tirana have also taken part in European competitions, and in many friendly international tournaments, where occasionally have reached successes, like their best achievement in the 1994–95 season when eliminated Makedonija Strumnica (3-0, 1-3) and OK Celje Slovenia (Slovenians withdrew) before being knocked out in 1/8 finals from Italians of Latte Rugiada Matera (0-3, 0-3). Tirana repeated success also in 1969–70 Champions Clubs Cup, by eliminating Fenerbahce Istanbul, before being knocked out from Rapid Bucharest in the 2nd round losing 0-3, 0-3. Their latest European wins were those of season 1995–96 in the CEV Cup beating Klimacommerce Bled of Slovenia 3-0 and the one of IV International Women Tournament of Partinico (Italy) in 1992, where achieved silver medal by beating KIW Agrigento 3-1.
Last seasons KV Tirana (Women's) have been fairly successful in the domestic activities and a sweet return in their old glorious days, winning 4 championships, 4 Cups and one Supercup.

Klubi i Futbollit Tirana is an Albanian professional football club based in the country's capital city, Tirana. The men's football club is part of the multi-disciplinary sports club SK Tirana, and is the most successful in Albania, having won 54 recognized major domestic trophies. They are the only football club in Albania with two stars in their crest after winning the 20th championship in 2003, each star corresponds to ten championships. Making them the first and only Albanian club to have achieved such a feat. They play their home games at the Selman Stërmasi Stadium and the Air Albania Stadium in Tirana and they play in the Kategoria Superiore.
The League of Lezhë, also commonly referred to as the Albanian League, was a military and diplomatic alliance of the Albanian aristocracy, created in the city of Lezhë on 2 March 1444. The League of Lezhë is considered the first unified independent Albanian country in the Medieval age, with Skanderbeg as leader of the regional Albanian chieftains and nobles united against the Ottoman Empire. Skanderbeg was proclaimed "Chief of the League of the Albanian People," while Skanderbeg always signed himself as "DominusAlbaniae".
The Qemal Stafa Stadium, named after Qemal Stafa (1920–1942), a World War II hero, was a national stadium and the largest football stadium in Tirana, Albania. Construction started in 1939 and the stadium was inaugurated in 1946 for the Balkan Cup, which was won by the Albania national football team. The stadium has been used for football matches of the Albanian Superliga and the national team, athletic events, and the six Albanian Spartakiads. Although it was enlarged in 1974 to accommodate up to 35,000 spectators, in the 1990s it became an all-seater stadium, and its capacity was reduced to 19,700.
Indrit Shaban Fortuzi is an Albanian retired national football forward who has played almost all his career for Tirana.
Vioresin Sinani is an Albanian former footballer who played as a striker. He spent the majority of his career at Vllaznia Shkodër as well as stints with Dinamo Tirana, Tirana and Besa Kavajë in Albania. He also played for NK Varteks in Croatia and Kayserispor in Turkey. He is Vllaznia's and the Albanian Superliga's record goalscorer.

The 2007–08 Kategoria Superiore was the 72nd season of top-tier football in Albania and the tenth season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 25 August 2007 and ended on 17 May 2008. KF Tirana were the defending champions, having won their twenty-third title the previous season.
The 1930 Albanian Championship was the first edition of the Albanian National Championship, which ran from 6 April until 6 July 1930. It was the first-ever official football competition in Albania run by the newly formed Albanian Football Association. The National Championship was only one of three such tournaments organized during that year by the AFA, the other two being the Youth Championship, and the Military Championship. All three championships were under the sponsorship of Princess Myzejen Zogu. The six teams participating in the tournament were Urani, Teuta, Skënderbeu, Bashkimi Shkodran, Sportklub Tirana and Sportklub Vlora, who were to play a ten-game format, whereby each team would host each of their five rivals once with two points awarded for a win and one point awarded for a drawn game. The two teams with the most points at the end of the regular season of the competition would then enter a championship playoff where they would play each other twice and the champions would be crowned based on the aggregate score of the home and away ties, however this playoff was not actually played due to forfeit.
The 2008–09 Kategoria Superiore was the 73rd season of top-tier football in Albania and the eleventh season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 24 August 2008 and ended on 23 May 2009. The defending champions were Dinamo Tirana.
KB Tirana are an Albanian professional basketball team based in Tiranë, which is the basketball branch of SK Tirana. They compete in the Albanian Basketball Superleague and in the Liga Unike. It is the most successful club in the Albanian Women Basketball history, with 42 championship titles won. In total, Tirana have won 71 trophies, which are the most in the country.
Stefan Shundi (1906–1947) was an Albanian writer, literary critic, journalist, lawyer, football player, and sports director. During 1933 to 1936 he was president of the KF Tirana football association.
