Avalude Ravukal is a 1978 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by I. V. Sasi and written by A. Sheriff. The film explores the life of Raji (Seema), a teenage prostitute and those of the people around her. Upon release, the film received less audience in the first three days but the situation changed in the coming days and it became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. The plot follows a sex worker who has not only been unapologetic about what she does but also considers herself deserving of love and dignity despite her job.

Sri Vikrama Rajasinha was the last of four kings to rule the last Sinhalese monarchy of the Kingdom of Kandy in Sri Lanka. The Nayak Kings were of Telugu origin and practiced Shaivite Hinduism and were patrons of Theravada Buddhism. The Nayak rulers played a huge role in reviving Buddhism in the island. They spoke Telugu and Tamil, and used Tamil as the court language in Kandy alongside Sinhala.
The Nayaks of Kandy were the rulers of the Kingdom of Kandy between 1739 and 1815, and the last dynasty to rule on the island. The term Nayak is derived from the Sanskrit word Nāyaka. Their rise to power came about as a result of the death of Vira Narendrasinha, who left no legitimate heir- the throne passed to his brother-in-law, who was crowned as Sri Vijaya Rajasinha in 1739. They were of Telugu Balija origin, spoke Telugu and Tamil, and used Sinhala and Tamil as their court languages. They are also credited for building various Vishnu temples in Sri Lanka dedicated to their clan deity Vishnu, known as Upulvan in Sinhala. A prominent one of them was the Kandy Vishnu Temple established at their capital Kandy. A cadet branch of the Madurai Nayak dynasty, the Kandyan Nayaks were related to the Thanjavur Nayaks as well. Both Madurai and Thanjavur nayaks belonged to Balija caste.
Parasakthi is a 1952 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Krishnan–Panju and written by M. Karunanidhi. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, S. V. Sahasranamam, S. S. Rajendran, Sriranjani Jr., and Pandari Bai. It is the cinematic acting debut of Ganesan and Rajendran. Based on Pavalar Balasundaram's play of the same name, Parasakthi narrates the misfortunes that befall the members of a Tamil family during World War II.

Ponniyin Selvan is a Tamil language historical fiction novel by Indian author Kalki Krishnamurthy. It was first serialised in the weekly editions of Kalki, a Tamil magazine, from 29 October 1950 to 16 May 1954 and later integrated into five volumes in 1955. In about 2,210 pages, it tells the story of early days of Chola prince Arulmozhivarman. Kalki visited Sri Lanka three times to gather information and for inspiration.
Oru Thai Makkal is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy drama film, directed by P. Neelakantan, starring M. G. Ramachandran, with M. N. Nambiar, Jayalalithaa and R. Muthuraman. It is a remake of the 1964 Hindi film Ayee Milan Ki Bela. The film was released on 9 December 1971.
Navarathinam is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language road film, written and directed by A. P. Nagarajan, his final film. It stars M. G. Ramachandran, Latha, Jayachitra and Zarina Wahab. The film was released on 5 March 1977, and failed commercially.
Oor Mariyadhai is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film stars Sarathkumar, Sasikala, Napoleon and Anand. It revolves around Rathnavelu (Sarathkumar), who is in love with Rasathi (Sasikala) who, however, loves Kannan (Anand). When her mother discovers this fact she gets her forcefully married to Rathnavelu leading to Kannan committing suicide and his brother swearing revenge. The film, produced by R. B. Choudary, was released on 1 May 1992.

It is a remake of the Malayalam film Theekkanal. The film was released on 26 January 1977, and ran for over 100 days in theatres.
Suryavamsam is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language soap opera on Zee Tamil starring Poornima Bhagyaraj, Nikitha Rajesh and Aashish Chakravarthi. It premiered on 21 September 2020 and ended on 21 August 2021. It is an official remake of the Zee Telugu series America Ammayi.
Mannar Vagaiyara is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by G. Boopathy Pandian. The film is produced by actor Vimal, who also stars alongside Anandhi, while Prabhu, Saranya Ponvannan, Chandini Tamilarasan and Karthik Kumar amongst others appear in supporting roles. Featuring music composed by Jakes Bejoy and cinematography by P. G. Muthiah and Sooraj Nallusami, the film was released on 26 January 2018 and become a decent hit by completing 100 days of theatrical run.

The show was broadcast from 3 November 2014 to 4 August 2018, completing 1,129 episodes and was replaced by Minnale serial. The show starred Neelima Rani, Nirosha, Ashwin Kumar, Ferozkhan, and Swetha. The actors Rani, Kumar and Mahalakshmi had previously been cast in the 2009–2013 Sun TV soap opera Chellamay.
