The Kaesong Folk Hotel is a tourist hotel located in Kaesong,North Korea,which opened in 1989. Housed in 19 traditional hanok-style courtyard houses,many of which date to the Joseon dynasty and retain their original furnishings. [1] The complex has 50 rooms,a traditional restaurant [2] and a souvenir shop. The houses themselves are located on both sides of the stream that runs through Kaesong, [3] with some located at the foot of Mountain Janam.
The hotel's accommodations are all traditionally Korean;guests sleep on the floor on padded mats,and all houses are equipped with the traditional Ondol heating system. Power outages are common at the hotel. [4]
The buildings were constructed at the time of the Ri Dynasty. [2] [5]
Kaesong is a special city in the southern part of North Korea,and the capital of Korea during the Taebong kingdom and subsequent Goryeo dynasty. The city is near the Kaesong Industrial Region close to the border with South Korea and contains the remains of the Manwoldae palace. Sŏnjuk Bridge is a Koryo-dynasty stone bridge located in Kaesong,North Korea. Sungyang Hall is a fourteenth-century Confucian academy located on the side of Mt. Janam in Kaesong,North Korea. The hall was constructed in the late fourteenth century for the home of the famously loyal statesman and Confucian scholar Jong Mong-ju,whose 1392 assassination by the agents of the later Taejo of Joseon marked the end of the Koryo dynasty. In 1573,the building was transformed into a Confucian academy.

The Ryanggang Hotel (량강호텔) was a first class hotel located in the Mangyongdae District of Pyongyang,North Korea. It has 330 rooms. The hotel was built in 1989 on a hill overlooking the Taedong and Pothong rivers,next to Seosan Football Stadium. The hotel covers an area of roughly 33,000 square metres and has two main buildings. There is a revolving restaurant on the top floor,and it has a library,billiard room,soft drink counter and shop.
The Songgyungwan was the highest educational institution established in Korea during the Koryo and Choson Dynasties. It opened in 992. The institution consists of the Taesong Temple,Myongnyun Hall and 20 other buildings,including one of the largest wooden buildings to still exist in the DPRK.

민속여관은 옛 한옥을 숙소와 식당으로 개조한 일종의 민속촌으로, 집들 사이로 실개천이 흐르는 마음 속 고향의 모습이다.
