Kallambella is the headquarters of one of the revenue circles, of the same name in Sira taluk of Tumkur district in Karnataka state.

Situated at a distance of 36 km north of Tumkur, off the National Highway 48, the place has a population of 4,500 persons (est.).

A large tank, supposed to have been built by 'Holampayya', is the main attraction of the place. This tank acts as a reservoir for the Hemavathi waters, on their way to Sira tank.

Rice, Arecanut, Ragi, and Groundnuts are the main crops grown here. When we come to caste kunchitiga vokkaligas are majority in number. It has 2 government primary schools, Of which NH4 schools well developed, one high school and a pu college. It has a government hospital,a veterinary hospital, many dabas, a toll plaza, etc. People here are well educated and work in many professions though majority depend on agriculture.

Kasturi Rangappa Nayaka Fort

The Kasturi Rangappa Nayaka Fort in Sira in Tumkur district of Karnataka is named after the Nayaka ruler Kasturi Rangappa Nayaka, who had ruled over Sira in the early 17th century as a palegar under the Vijayanagar Empire. After their rule, the fort and the Province of Sira came under the control of several rulers. Restoration works have been carried out by the Archaeology Department of Karnataka.
