Kambale Ferigo is a Ugandan politician and legislator, representing Kasese municipality in the 11th Parliament of Uganda. [1]

He was elected to Parliament after contesting and winning Robert Centenary and others, during 2021 general elections. [2] [3] [4]

During the 2021 election campaigns, he promised to persuade the government to reconstruct Kilembe Mines hospital, build a modern mortuary, construct Kasese airport and organize trade symposiums to boost business. [5]

He is also the Director of a community-based organization called Big Heart Foundation (BHF) which organizes trainings in vocational skills for the youths in Kasese district, and has guided them in forming groups to fight unemploymentyment. [6]

During his time as Kasese Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2015, a group of youth stormed his home demanding him to contest in 2016 elections, which he did and lost. [7]

He was among the team of Members of Parliament from Kasese, who were demanding the speedy trial and release of Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere of Rwenzururu, his former prime minister and royal guards. [8]

Charles Wesley Mumbere, known by his royal title Irema-Ngoma I, is the king of the African kingdom of Rwenzururu, a subnational kingdom within Uganda. Mumbere was arrested in December 2016 after the clashes in the kingdom's capital of Kasese, and has since been in prison awaiting trial.

Jacob L'Okori Oulanyah was a Ugandan agricultural economist, lawyer, and politician, who served as the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda since 2021 until 2022. He was elected to that position on 24 May 2021, after defeating his tenacious rival the then incumbent Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga. He served as Deputy Speaker of the Ugandan parliament, from May 2011 until May 2021. Oulanyah was also the member of parliament representing the Omoro County constituency, Omoro District, Acholi sub-region, in the Uganda's Northern Region.

Evelyn Anite Kajik, commonly known as Evelyn Anite, is a Ugandan journalist and politician. She is the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in the Ugandan Cabinet since 6 June 2016. Previously, she served as State Minister for Youth. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Ronald Kibuule, who was appointed State Minister for Water Resources. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda, a position she occupied from 2011 until 2021. In the 2020 National Resistance Movement (NRM) primary elections, Anite lost to Dr Charles Ayume, the son of former speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, the late Francis Ayume.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kasese clashes</span>

Violence erupted on 26 November 2016 in the town of Kasese, the capital of the Ugandan Kingdom of Rwenzururu, when Ugandan police raided the government offices of the Rwenzururu kingdom, killing eight Rwenzururian royal guards and arresting two others. According to the government of Uganda, the raid was in response to militant attacks on police posts in the region two weeks earlier, allegedly perpetrated by the royal guards.

Peter Elwelu is a Lieutenant General in the Ugandan military, known formally as the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF).He currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces of the UPDF. He was appointed to that position on 24 June 2021 Since 9 January 2017, he has served as the commander of land forces, which is the fourth-highest position in the UPDF hierarchy. Prior to that, from June 2013 until January 2017, he was the commander of the UPDF 2nd division, based in Mbarara, the largest town in Uganda's Western Region. Elwelu is most known for the Kasese massacre in which according to Human Rights Watch 153 people, including children, were killed. "They deserved to die" he told the Observer in May 2021.

Kassiano Ezati Wadri is a Ugandan social worker and politician. He is the incumbent independent Member of Parliament, representing Arua Municipality in the 10th Parliament, effective 29 August 2018. The seat fell vacant when Ibrahim Abiriga of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), was assassinated in June 2018.

Amos Mubunga Kambere is a Ugandan - Canadian author, educationist, and former lawmaker in the Parliament of Uganda. In 1980, Amos Mubunga Kambere became the youngest Member of Parliament of Uganda at the age of twenty-six representing Kasese South.
