Kanga Esports is an Australian esports organisation based in Melbourne and Sydney. It currently has teams competing in League of Legends , Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , Brawlhalla , and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate . It previously had teams competing in Paladins , Rainbow Six Siege , Super Smash Bros. Melee , Tekken , Street Fighter , Fortnite , Overwatch , and Valorant .

Originally founded as a professional Paladins team in 2017, Kanga Esports saw major international success in the competitive Paladins scene before branching out into other games. The organisation's founder, Hayden "Haydz" Shiels, began his esports career as a professional Paladins player in 2016 before becoming a coach in 2018.

League of Legends

Kanga Esports acquired Legacy Esports and its LCO spot from the Adelaide Football Club on 21 November 2021. [1] [2] [3] [4] The LCO (short for League of Legends Circuit Oceania) is the top level of professional League of Legends in Oceania; Legacy Esports had been a long-time member of the LCO and its predecessor, the OPL (Oceanic Pro League). Legacy Esports qualified for the prestigious League of Legends World Championship in 2020, [5] placing 17th to 18th out of 24 teams.

Paladins

Professional Paladins player Hayden "Haydz" Shiels founded Kanga Esports in 2017. The team made several top finishes throughout its history and qualified for the Paladins World Championship in 2018, [6] 2019, [7] [8] and 2020. Kanga Esports was a member of the Paladins Premier League. [9]

Kanga Esports sponsors Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player Jdizzle, [10] who as of November 2021 is ranked as Oceania's number one player.

Kanga Esports has also sponsored several of Oceania's top Brawlhalla players. Kylar Alice, who as of November 2021 is ranked as Oceania's number one player for both 1v1's and 2v2's, was previously sponsored by Kanga Esports. Kylar Alice's previous duo partner, Rite, and a current contender for number one, Doggo, are currently sponsored by Kanga Esports.

Brawlhalla is a free-to-play fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth Games. It was originally released for macOS, PlayStation 4 and Windows in 2017, with ports for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Android and iOS released later. Full cross-play is supported across all platforms. The game was shown at PAX East in April 2014 and went into alpha later that month. An open beta became available in November 2015, followed by the game's full release in October 2017. The Pacific Championship Series (PCS) is a professional esports league for League of Legends teams competing in the Asia-Pacific. Riot Games, the game's developer, created the league on 19 December 2019. This followed an announcement three months prior by Garena – the game's distributor in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia – that it planned to merge the League of Legends Master Series (LMS) and League of Legends SEA Tour (LST) into a single tournament jointly run with Riot Games.

The League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) is the top-level of professional League of Legends competition in Oceania, founded in 2021 and hosted by ESL Australia and Guinevere Capital. The LCO replaced the Oceanic Pro League (OPL), hosted by Riot Games Oceania from 2015 to 2020. The annual season consists of two splits, each of which conclude in a double-elimination tournament between the top five teams.

After Riot Games discontinued the OPL following the 2020 season, Pentanet.GG became a member of the ESL-run League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO).

PEACE was removed from the LCO in 2023, after its managers submitted the team's roster late.

ORDER was one of the largest esports organisation in Australia fielding competitive rosters in: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Street Fighter V, and Valorant. The organisation entered voluntary administration on 17 August 2022 and eventually folded in November 2022.
