Kanoria foundation was founded back in 2014, is a trustee organization headquartered in Kolkata, India. [1] [2] Kanoria Foundation actively helps and supports social activities like sponsoring students' education, holding spiritual conferences [3] and supporting the survivors of acid attack. [4]

Acid Survivors and Women Welfare Foundation (ASWWF)

Acid Survivors and Women Welfare Foundation(ASWWF) is an NGO formed and managed by Kanoria foundation for the support and welfare of acid attack survivors.Acid attack survivors are helped financially to get the medications and for their survival. [5]

They have opened their wings in Odisha and Bihar also so that the acid attack victims women could get the advocacy, financial support and the help for their rehabilitation. [6]

Education Organizations

Kanoria foundation has an initiative of it i.e., Srihari Global School Asansol, the aim of this NGO is to provide complete body, mind and soul enrichment of the child. This uses pedagogical pattern in teaching and has its affiliation with CBSE board. [7]

Around 700 underprivileged students are benefitted in their scholarships, free meals and education from the sarvodaya schools, which are established by Kanoria foundation for the weaker section of the society. [8] These two Sarvodaya schools are affiliated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

Universal Spirituality and Humanity Foundation

This initiative of Kanoria foundation has been conducting The World Confluence of Humanity, Power & Spirituality over the years which involves the eminent speakers around the world to speak on humanity and spirituality. [9] Eminent personalities like Late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, Late Pranab Mukherjee, [10] [11] Former President of India, had graced this confluence and also got the compliments from Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon'ble President of India, Shri Venkiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice President of India. Prior to his election as President, Mukherjee was Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2019, by his successor as president, Ram Nath Kovind.

Natwar Thakkar, popularly known as Natwar bhai, was an Indian social worker who worked in Nagaland. He came from Maharashtra but migrated to Nagaland for social work at the age of 23. Dr. Vikas Mahatme is Padmashri Awarded Indian ophthalmologist, social entrepreneur, visionary and a former member of the Parliament in Rajya Sabha. Born in Amravati, he comes from Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra. He is well known across Maharashtra for his charitable and social works. He founded a charitable trust – S. Mahatme Eye Welfare Charitable Trust that runs Mahatme Eye Bank eye hospital in Nagpur as well as branches in Mumbai, Amravati, Gadchiroli and Pune. He received the Padma Shri for his charitable community work as an ophthalmologist. In June 2016, Mahatme was the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections, which he won unopposed. His candidature was strongly backed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He belongs to the Dhangar community. He has expressed support for implementing Scheduled Tribe reservation for Dhangar community in Maharashtra and is its first community member to get elected to parliament. He is currently a member of the Indian Nursing Council.

Ishika Taneja was Miss India (2017–18). She was crowned the Business Woman of the World at Miss World Tourism held in Melaka, Malaysia on January 27, 2018. She has also won the titles for Miss Popularity and Miss Beauty with Brain as Miss India.

The Chhanv Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) set up by Alok Dixit and Ashish Shukla in 2013 in order to help the survivors of acid attacks. It runs cafés known under the social enterprise Sheroes Hangout in Agra, Lucknow and Noida which works for the rehabilitation and employment of acid attack survivors. The NGO received the Nari Shakti Puraskar and in 2020 stated it had helped over 100 survivors of acid attacks.
