Kantanka Automobile, a Ghana based automotive assembler and manufacturer, was established in 1994 by Kwadwo Safo Kantanka [1] and incorporated as Limited Liability Company in 2004 to research into the manufacturing of automotive components and their combination with other parts outsourced from component suppliers to form a complete built unit. In 1998, the first Complete Built Unit (CBU) was manufactured using over 75% of local components, locally manufactured including the engine block. By 2006, the first SUV (ONANTEFO) was manufactured.

Kantanka vehicles are assembled in Ghana from CKD (Complete Knock Down) kits supplied by a Chinese firm, possible Foday through Chongqing Big Science & Technology. [2] [3]

Models

The Kantanka range of cars includes both saloon and four-wheel drive vehicles.

Military hardware

Kantanka is alleged to have manufactured military hardware such as armored personnel carriers, tanks, and helicopters. However these devices appear to be civilian vehicles with spare sheet metal attached, and use firework rockets as their primary weapons system. They've developed combat exoskeletons however they appear to be a combination of sheet metal, decorative hoses and protective equipment for motorcyclists. [9]

Kantanka launched an armored vehicle with rangefinder in the 2018 Annual Technology Show at Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences. [10]

Dadi Auto company

Dadi Auto was a pickup truck and heavy-duty truck manufacturing company headquartered in Baoding, China. Formerly a military automobile maker, Baoding Dadi assembled their first civil pickup in 1988. Their product line-up mirrored that of Great Wall Motor and Zhongxing. The company claimed a production capacity of 50,000 units per year, but this figure may conflate engines and whole vehicles. The company later stopped manufacturing passenger cars and focused on the commercial vehicle market. In November 2011, Chinese conglomerate CHTC acquired Dadi and reincorporated it as Hengtian (CHTC) Dadi Automobile Co., Ltd. on October 16, 2012.

Premier Ltd. is a manufacturer of vehicles based in Mumbai, India. The company is owned by the Walchand Group. Walchand established Premier Ltd. with the encouragement and support of architect of modern India, Sir. M. Vishweswarayya. Guangdong Foday Automobile Co., Ltd., trading as Foday, is an automotive manufacturing company based in Guangdong, China. With roots going back to 1988, it used to be known as Guangdong Fudi Automobile Co., Ltd.. Its principal products are vehicles, primarily pick-up trucks and SUVs, automotive parts and stampings. Its products have been sold in various countries under the Fudi and Foday brands.

F650 Pickups is a vehicle modifier and automotive distributor of mainly custom made Ford F-650 super trucks and XUVs. As well as custom made class 5 and 6 Navistar International, Freightliner, Chevrolet, and GMC Super trucks, 6 door Ford F-450 SUVs, and various used automobiles and trailers. All their products are distributed on theirs and 3rd party dealerships and also online. In 2006 the company's trucks were featured on automotive magazines like Rides magazine, Poker Runs America, Xtreme Boats, Dupont Registry, Exotic Car Buyers Guide.

AL-HAJ FAW Motors Limited is a Pakistani automobile manufacturer based in Karachi, Pakistan since 2013. It is a subsidiary of Chinese assembler and manufacturer of FAW Group. The company assembles passenger and commercial vehicles at its assembly plant in Karachi.

Esemka Indonesian automobile manufacturer

PT Solo Manufaktur Kreasi, trading as Esemka, is an Indonesian automotive company based in Solo, Indonesia. The "Esemka" brand was named as the abbreviation of vocational high school to recognize the effort of the students to develop the native car brand. Though initially local media used to term it as national car brand of Indonesia, but the company described Esemka as a vehicle which is totally made in Indonesia. Since 2013 an average of 10 units of SUV and mini trucks had been manufactured per month by the company. The company started commercial production of various model of cars and minivan in its manufacturing plant at Demangan village, Boyolali Regency in Central Java since 2016. It was officially inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on 6 September 2019. At the time of inauguration, the manufacturing plant has production capacity of 12,000 vehicles per year. Esemka uses locally made components from companies such as PT INKA and Pertamina.

The Esemka Bima is a series of light commercial vehicles manufactured by the Indonesian automaker Esemka. It is the first product that being mass-produced by the company, locally assembled at PT Solo Manufaktur Kreasi (SMK) manufacturing facility in Boyolali, Central Java. The Bima was launched on 6 September 2019. A total of 26 local component manufacturers supplied parts for the pickup truck, including PT INKA. The company claimed the Bima is built with 60–62 percent local content. Despite being built locally, the blueprint design of the Bima is allegedly identical to the Changan and Jinbei pickup trucks.

GM BEV2 platform Electric vehicle platform

Battery Electric Vehicle 2, better known in acronym form as BEV2, is the name of an automotive platform made by the automotive conglomerate General Motors (GM) designed specifically for small electric vehicles (EVs). Multiple divisions of the LG Corporation have been instrumental in construction in addition to GM's contributions to the platform. Both the primary brands of GM and its joint brands with SAIC have used the platform.

General Motors Thailand automobile manufacturer

General Motors (Thailand) Limited (GMT) is a holding company of sales and manufacturing subsidiaries of General Motors (GM) in Thailand. The company was registered in 1993 as a sales company and opened its manufacturing plant in 2000. At its height, GM Thailand exported vehicles to most regions in the world, including South America, Central America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan. In February 2020, GM announced that it would withdraw from the Thai market and the Rayong plant would be acquired by Great Wall Motors by the end of 2020. The company continued to support existing Chevrolet owners for ongoing aftersales, warranty and service.
