Kanturk Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland, playing in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League. Founded in 1927, the club reached the All-Ireland League for the first time in 2014. [1]
Kanturk is a town in the north west of County Cork, Ireland. It is situated at the confluence of the Allua (Allow) and Dallow (Dalua) rivers, which stream further on as tributaries to the River Blackwater. It is about 50 kilometres from Cork and Limerick, and lies just north of the main N72 road, 15 km from Mallow and about 40 km from Killarney. Kanturk is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency.
Anthony Nash is a retired Irish hurler who played for the Kanturk and Limerick Championship Club South Liberties clubs. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 15 seasons, during which time he lined out as a goalkeeper.

Duhallow GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division in the historical barony of Duhallow, County Cork, Ireland. This barony is situated in the northwest region of the county, and includes towns such as Kanturk, Millstreet, and Newmarket. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football and hurling teams from the adult teams playing at junior level or county intermediate level, and these then compete for the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship. Since hurling is the weaker sport in the division, a divisional team has also participated in the Cork Minor Hurling Championship and Cork Under-21 Hurling Championship.

Philip Francis Johnson, usually known as P. F. Johnson was an Irish nationalist political labour activist and Kanturk hotel proprietor. Born at Mallow, County Cork, he co-founded in 1869 the Kanturk Labourers’ Club, where he was lifelong committed to the well-being of labourers in the Munster region. He had close Fenian connections and was active in the Land League. Although an anti-Parnellite he supported the Irish National League with a branch in Kanturk.
