Kapatid was a Filipino rock supergroup fronted by Karl Roy, the brother of Kevin Roy of Razorback. He was also the vocalist of bands Advent Call and P.O.T.

The band was originally composed of Nathan Azarcon (of Rivermaya, Bamboo and Hijo) on bass, J-Hoon Balbuena (of Kjwan) on drums, Ira Cruz (of Passage, Bamboo and Hijo) on rhythm guitar and the late Chico Molina on lead guitar. [1] The band was managed by Pam Lunar. They went on to release their first self-titled LP with hit songs "Prayer", "Pagbabalik ng Kwago", and "Visions" among others, in 2003.

Career

Joined by Karl Roy were veteran musician and bassist Louie Talan (of Razorback), guitarist Anjones Elemos, and drummer Paolo Rosal (of Queso, formerly Cheese). Together they recorded their second album Luha, with carrier songs "Doon", "Psycho Love", and "Sunday Shining" (included in the Pinoy Blonde soundtrack), released in February 2006 and distributed by Sony Records. Death of Karl Roy

On March 13, 2012, Roy, the band's lead vocalist, died due to cardiac arrest. [4]

P.O.T. was a Filipino rock band, formed in 1994 and officially disbanded in 2005. The band was fronted by Karl Roy who also fronted the bands Advent Call and Kapatid. The group is famous for their 1997 remake of the song "Yugyugan Na", originally performed by The Advisors in 1977. The band held a reunion concert on July 22, 2006, at The 70's Bistro in Quezon City. On 1997, Harley Alarcon left the band and was replaced by Jay Alviar who also left a year later. In 1999, Ian Umali left the band to go back to school and continue his studies.

Beautiful Machines (2005) is the debut album of Filipino rock band Pupil. It was released on November 10, 2005 under Sony BMG, the same music company that publishes the Eraserheads' music. The band itself describes their music as "dark, loud, and romantic." It is very guitar-driven, stripped down, and the album has a very distinct sound, considering that it is the band's debut album. The album was recorded digitally at Wombworks in Marikina. “We didn't use amps at all,” says frontman Ely Buendia. The band had its official Album Launch Party on January 31, 2006 at the Mugen Bar Metrowalk. The band also mentioned in an interview with Animax, that the album was greatly influenced by sci-fi.
