The Karachi football team was a Pakistani football team representing the Karachi Federal Capital Territory in the National Football Championship. [1]
The team competed at the National Football Championship, the premier football competition of Pakistan, from 1950 till 1960. [1] In the beginning, the team was under the Sind-Karachi Football Association, the governing body of football in Sindh and the Karachi Federal Capital Territory. In 1950, a separate Karachi Football Association body was formed. [2] [3]
In the 1960 National Football Championship, the team under the name of Karachi Whites finished runner-ups after falling 0–1 against East Pakistan in the final. [1] [4]
In 1961, under PFF newly elected president Asghar Khan, the National Football Championship structure in Pakistan transitioned from provincial to divisional based teams for the first time, and coupled with the relocation of capital of Pakistan to Rawalpindi, the team was effectively dissolved.
