Karan Hariharan (born 18 September 1992) is an Indian actor who made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor in the film Missing on a Weekend . [1] [2] [3]
Karan Hariharan was born in Bombay (now Mumbai). He is the son of Lalitha and legendary singer Padmashree Hariharan. Karan's elder brother Akshay Hariharan is a music composer. [4] Coming from a family where his father and grandparents are into music, Karan got trained in classical Hindustani Music from childhood. However, his calling was always acting.
Karan Hariharan faced the camera for the first time along with his father for the popular track Halka Nasha at the age of three. [5] At the age of 13 he began doing shows with his father where he sang and played the guitar. He studied acting for two years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles. He also trained in Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, Tai Chi, Wing Chun and Capoeira. [6]
Karan Hariharan's debut film is Abhishek Jawkar's thriller Missing on a Weekend where he plays the pivotal character of Laksh, who wakes up suffering from amnesia, with all his friends missing during their holiday. [6] [7] [8] The film also stars Pawan Malhotra, Dishank Arora, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Jyotii Sethi in important roles. [9] This film is released on 26 August 2016. [10] [11] [12] He was last seen Hariharan's Ghazal video 'Afsaane' where he was seen playing a younger version of his father. Karan also produced the music video under his production house called Light Empire. The music video received phenomenal response with Hariharan's voice, Akshay Hariharan's music and Karan Hariharan's acting.
