Karen Dewis (born 19 September 1962) is a Canadian former professional tennis player.
Dewis featured on the WTA Tour in the 1980s. She reached the final qualifying round at the 1980 Wimbledon Championships and won her first round match at the 1984 Borden Classic.
Between 1980 and 1984 she appeared in a total of six ties for the Canada Federation Cup team. Her only singles win came against Mexico's Alejandra Vallejo, in addition to doubles wins over Yugoslavia and Chile.
A varsity tennis player for the UCLA Bruins, Dewis was a gold medalist for Canada at the 1983 World University Games in Edmonton, partnering Jill Hetherington. [1] [2]
Hana Mandlíková is a former professional tennis player from Czechoslovakia who later obtained Australian citizenship. During her career, she won four Grand Slam singles titles - the 1980 Australian Open, 1981 French Open, 1985 US Open and 1987 Australian Open. She was also runner-up in four Grand Slam singles events - twice at Wimbledon and twice at the US Open. The graceful right-hander secured one Grand Slam women's doubles title, at the 1989 US Open with Martina Navratilova. Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1994, Mandlíková was one of the brightest stars of her generation and is considered one of the greatest female players of the Open Era.

Her highest finishes were the quarterfinals of the 1967 Wimbledon Championships in women's doubles and the semifinals at the 1964 U.S. National Championships in mixed doubles. At the Fed Cup in the 1960s, Berner reached the quarterfinals at the 1964 Federation Cup in singles and the 1967 Federation Cup in doubles. In 1995, Berner was named into the Tennis Canada Hall of Fame.
