Karla Nicole Gilbert OAM [1] (born 28 February 1975) is a former Australian professional surf lifesaver.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Gilbert competed in Ironwoman (surf lifesaving) races, winning the Australian Championship three times (1993, 1994 and 2003) and also won the Devondale Ironwoman Series, Meadowlea Ironwoman series and Kelloggs Ironwoman Series seven years in concession from 1995 to 2003. She was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2009 for services to surf lifesaving and the community, [1] and is a member of the International, [2] Australian, [3] Queensland, [4] Gold Coast Sporting Halls of Fame. Gilbert competed in the Gladiator Individual Sports Athletes Challenge in 1995.
Later in her career, Gilbert pursued adventure racing, where she won the Australian Short Course Adventure Race title in 2006.
This led onto taking up the sport of Standup Paddle Boarding in 2008, soon after her first child was born and went on to win the Australian Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Gilbert went into nutrition and health coaching. She launched her website in late September 2013.
Gilbert was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2005. [3] and went on to become a life member of the Surfers Paradise Surf Lifesaving Club later that year.
Michelle Susan Martin is an Australian former professional squash player who was one of the game's leading players in the 1990s. She was ranked number one in the world from 1993 to 1996 and again in 1998 and 1999, and won three World Open titles and six British Open titles.
Sara Carrigan is a professional cyclist from Australia, who commenced her cycling career in 1996 at the age of fifteen and is currently a member of the Belgian Lotto–Belisol Ladiesteam.
Gillian Rolton was an Australian Olympic equestrian champion. She competed in two Olympic Games, the 1992 Barcelona Games and 1996 Atlanta Games, winning a gold medal in team eventing both times on her horse, Peppermint Grove. At the 1996 Atlanta Games, she broke her collarbone and ribs, but remounted and completed the course. She was one of four Australians to win multiple equestrian Olympic gold medals.
Lisa Gaye Curry AO MBE, also known by her married name Lisa Curry-Kenny, is an Australian former competition swimmer.
Sally Pearson, OAM is a retired Australian athlete who competed in the 100 metre hurdles. She is the 2011 and 2017 World champion and 2012 Olympic champion in the 100 metres hurdles. She also won a silver medal in the 100 m hurdles at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2013 World Championships.
Katrin Borchert is an East German-born Australian sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1980s to 2001. Competing in three Summer Olympics, she won three medals with one silver and two bronzes. During her career, she has represented four countries: East Germany, then West Germany, then Germany followed by Australia.

Ky Hurst is an Australian swimmer and ironman. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 10km marathon swimming event and finished in 11th place, after qualifying by finishing fifth at the 2008 FINA World Open Water Swimming Championship. Hurst was one of the first Australian athletes to gain selection for the 2012 London Olympics by placing fifth at the 2011 World Open Water Swimming Championships. At that time Hurst decided to continue to pursue both swimming and Ironman racing during 2012, the latter he competed in with great success. Hurst was a long term ward of master coach Dennis Cottrell, at the Miami Club. He is now under noted swimmer and coach Colin Braund and in Bond Club.
Clint David Robinson, OAM is an Australian sprint kayaker and surf lifesaver who has won a complete set of medals at the Summer Olympics.
Emma Moffatt is a retired Australian professional triathlete. She won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and won the gold at the ITU Triathlon World Championships in 2009 and in 2010. She was born in Moree, New South Wales, and was raised in the northern New South Wales town of Woolgoolga.

Dennis Allan Green was an Australian sprint canoeist, surf lifesaver, coach and sporting administrator who competed from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. He was the first Australian to compete in five Summer Olympics, and he won a bronze medal in the K-2 10000 m event at Melbourne in 1956. He also won 57 Gold Medals at the World Masters Games and a further 75 at national level.

Alyssa Bull is an Australian canoeist. She qualified to represent Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Bull was unable to make the final of the women's K-1 500m being knocked out in the semi-final. Bull paired with Alyce Wood in the Women's K-2 500m. They made it to the final and finished fifth.
Dean Paul Mercer was an Australian sportsman who competed in ironman events.
Sheryl Burns is a former representative of New Zealand in international netball, basketball and surf lifesaving events. She now teaches netball and works as a high-performance coach in Queensland, Australia.
