Karma Ke Rati is a 2013 Assamese-Sadri film by Jayanta Nath on Tea-garden community of Assam. The movie evolves around an incident happened in the annual Karam (festival) celebrated by the Tea-garden community of Assam. [1]
The movie is set mostly in a tea estate of Sepon, Assam. An Ideal teacher "Sagar", who leads a group of youth to fight against corrupted officials through education is the main plot of the film. Film also features a Jhumair song, the main attraction of Karam (festival) in which the climax took place. [2]

Zubeen Garg is an Indian singer, music director, composer, lyricist, music producer, actor, film director, film producer, script writer and philanthropist. Assamese cinema, also known as Jollywood, is an Indian film industry of Assamese-language motion pictures. It is based in Assam, India. The industry was born in 1935 when Jyoti Prasad Agarwala released his movie Joymoti. Since then the Assamese cinema has developed a slow-paced, sensitive style, especially with the movies of Bhabendra Nath Saikia and Jahnu Barua. The industry is called Jollywood, named for Agarwala's Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio.

It was produced by Shankar Lall Goenka and stars Rupam Chetia and Jupitora Bhuyan in the lead roles. The film was released on 3 January 2014.
Munin Barua was an Indian film director in Assamese cinematography. Among his best known films are Pita-Putro, Prabhati Pokhir Gaan, Hiya Diya Niya, Daag, Nayak and Bidhata. Barua is widely regarded in Assam to have been one of the directors who helped popularize and establish Assamese cinema outside the state, primarily elsewhere in India where other industries had historically dominated. In 2000, his film Hiya Diya Niya became a first 'blockbuster hit' in Assamese cinema, which helped revive the Assamese film industry. Another film, Dinabandhu, received National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Assamese in 2005.

The Prag Cine Awards North-East 2016 ceremony, presented by the Prag Network, honoured the actors, technical achievements, and films censored in 2015 from Assam and rest of Northeast India, took place on May 14–15, 2016 at the Church field in Tezpur, Assam.
