Karolina Anna Michalczuk (born 6 December 1979) is a world champion boxer, [1] and twice European champion. She was born in Brzezice, a village in eastern Poland. Her club is Paco Lublin.
She represented Poland in the 2012 Summer Olympics taking place in London in the flyweight division. She lost in the Round of 16 to India's Mary Kom [2] 14-19.
The IBA World Boxing Championships, and the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, are biennial amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (IBA), which is the sport governing body. Alongside the Olympic boxing programme, they are the highest level of competition for the sport. The championships were first held for men in 1974 and the first women's championships were held over 25 years later in 2001.
Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is an Indian amateur boxer, politician, and incumbent Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. She is the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times, the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer to win eight World Championship medals. She became the first Indian female boxer to win a gold medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and is the first Indian female boxer to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is also the only boxer to become Asian Amateur Boxing Champion for a record six times. Mary Kom won the 51kg gold in President's Cup in Indonesia.

Mary Kom is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film based on the life of the eponymous boxer Mary Kom, directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead role, with newcomer Darshan Kumar and Sunil Thapa in supporting roles of her husband and mentor, respectively, and depicts Kom's journey of becoming a boxer to her victory at the 2008 World Boxing Championships in Ningbo. She also participated at the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in the light flyweight event, winning no medal. Balkibekova then participated at the 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, being awarded the silver medal in the minimumweight event. In the final match, she was defeated by Ayşe Çağırır.
