Karvannan (died 13 February 2015) was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who worked on Tamil films. [1] [2]
Karvannan associated three times with actor Murali, during his five film career, working on Paalam (1990), Pudhiya Katru (1990) and Thondan (1995). [3] After a break in the late 1990s, he returned to make another feature film titled Remote (2004) with Napolean in the lead role. The impact and aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami meant that the film had a brief run in theatres. [4]
Karvannan died in February 2015, aged 55, following a heart attack. [5]

A. Bhimsingh or Bhim Singh was an Indian filmmaker who worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. Apart from Tamil, he made films in other languages that include 18 films in Hindi, 8 films in Telugu, 5 films in Malayalam and 1 film in Kannada. Paalam (transl. Bridge) is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film directed by Karvannan. The film stars Murali, M. N. Nambiar, Kitty and newcomer Vasudevan Baskaran, with Senthil, Anuja, Suryakanth, Balambika, Kannan, Ramesh and Gowri in supporting roles. It was released on 10 March 1990.
Remote is a 2004 Tamil language action drama film directed by Karvannan, his last directorial before his death. The film featured Napoleon in the lead role, with several newcomers in supporting roles. The film was released on 26 December 2004. The impact and aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami meant that the film had a brief run in theatres. The film was later dubbed and released in Hindi as Time Limit 36 Hours.
