Kashmir is a Danish alternative rock band consisting of Kasper Eistrup (vocals and lead guitar); Mads Tunebjerg (bass); Asger Techau (drums) and Henrik Lindstrand (keyboards and guitar).
In the spring of 1991, Eistrup, Tunebjerg and Techau formed a heavy blues band under the name "Nirvana" at Kastanievej Efterskole, a continuation school, in Frederiksberg, Denmark. Shortly after they started performing Thursday nights at Ordrup Gymnasium, a local high school.[ citation needed ]
When the American band Nirvana started to gain success, they changed their name to "Kashmir", after the Led Zeppelin song.[ citation needed ]
In 1993, they finished second in "DM i Rock", a national amateur concert contest, behind Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and subsequently became popular in Denmark.[ citation needed ]
In 2000, the band won six Danish Music Awards: 'Best Danish Band', 'Best Danish Album', 'Best Danish Songwriter', and 'Best Danish Rock Album' for The Good Life ; and 'Best Danish Producer' and 'Best Danish Music Video' for "Mom in Love, Daddy in Space". [1]
In 2001, Lindstrand joined the band's lineup.
In 2004, the band won four Danish Music Awards for 'Best Danish Band', 'Best Danish Rock Album' for Zitilites, 'Best Danish Music Video' for "Rocket Brothers" and 'Best Album Cover' for Zitilites. [1]
Their album No Balance Palace (2005), features Lou Reed reciting a poem by Eistrup on "Black Building" and David Bowie who sings a duet with Eistrup on "The Cynic". Additionally, the album was produced by Tony Visconti.
On 13 November 2009, Kashmir released the first single "Mouthful of Wasps" on their website. The band also announced via Twitter that Trespassers , their sixth full-length album, would see its release on 1 February 2010. Trespassers was produced by John O'Mahony and Andy Wallace, and recorded at Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
In 2017, the band went on indefinite hiatus. [2]
In 2022, the band started a new tour. The tour was planned for 2022, but was postponed due to Corona. [3]

Dizzy Mizz Lizzy is an alternative rock band from Denmark formed in 1988. The power trio consists of Tim Christensen, Martin Nielsen and Søren Friis (drums). Between 1994 and 1997, they were highly successful in Denmark and Japan and are credited for heading the 1990s rock revival in Denmark with their studio albums Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (1994) and Rotator (1996). After the group disbanded in 1998, which Christensen started a successful solo career.
Tim Christensen is a Danish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is known both as the singer, guitarist and songwriter of the Danish alternative rock band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and as a solo artist. Since 2014, he has primarily focused on Dizzy Mizz Lizzy.
Outlandish is a hip-hop music group based in Denmark. Formed in 1997, it consisted of Isam Bachiri, Waqas Ali Qadri, and Lenny Martinez. All three members are religious, with Isam and Waqas being Muslims and Lenny being Catholic. The group disbanded in 2017 as each member wanted to pursue personal projects. In 2019 band members Waqas and Lenny brought back the band as a duo while Isam continued to pursue a solo career. Outlandish has since released two singles and are currently working on a new album which is set to be released in April 2020.
Home Dead is a 2001 EP by Danish band Kashmir. An in-between EP, Home Dead was made after the success of The Good Life, and before the band rediscovered themselves with Zitilites. The music on this album, is a reflection of the crisis depicted in Rocket Brothers, a documentary film about the band.
Volbeat are a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, and rockabilly. Their current line-up consists of vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen, guitarist Rob Caggiano, drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. The band is signed to Dutch label Mascot Records and has released eight studio albums and one DVD. Their second album Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil received platinum status, and their 2010 release Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was subject to widespread international critical acclaim, receiving triple platinum in Denmark and Austria, double platinum in Sweden, platinum in Canada, 5x Gold in Germany, and gold in Finland and the United States. The Danish Music Awards (DMA) is a Danish award show. The show has been arranged by IFPI since 1989, and was originally called IFPI-prisen ("IFPI-Award") until 1991, when it changed its name to Dansk Grammy. It was changed to its current name, Danish Music Awards in 2001, after the American Grammy Awards registered the name "Grammy" as their trademark. In 2011, IFPI joined together with TV2 and KODA to present the awards ceremony.
Martin Hoberg Hedegaard, also known as Saveus is a Danish singer, songwriter and record producer. In 2016, he wrote and produced the EP Will Somebody Save Us and in 2018 he released his first full-length album, Neuro. The same year, he opened the Orange Stage at the Roskilde Festival.
Dúné [Dew-nay] were a Danish rock band from Skive. At their split-up in 2018 the band consisted of Mattias Kolstrup, Piotrek Wasilewski, and Ole Bjórn. Their style was comparable to British and American electronic rock and resembles elements of 1980s pop music and 1970s post-punk blend with a distinct and modern Scandinavian touch. The band was best known for their entertaining and energetic live performances.

Kasper Torsting is a Danish film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. He is best known for his early works as a cinematographer and director on the documentaries Rocket Brothers, Solo, and the cinema-portrait of fellow Danish director, Oscar winner Thomas Vinterberg and David Bowie.
