History

The market was formally known as Tudun Wada Market was established as a result of Kaduna central market reconstruction in 1973 when the traders was moved to Kasuwar Barci by the Government of Kaduna state . [2] Kasuwar Tudun Wada traders was renamed Kasuwar Barci because other market around that time enjoyed more patronage and the traders were always idles and sleeping. A trader name Abdullah lamented on every stall about their lack of customers and suggested to call it Kasuwar Barci means Market sleeping as people only come to sleep. This how Kasuwar Tudun wada was renamed. [2] [3] The market was built with shops in 1991.
